Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, BrainyDude27! I am Calaka and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology - Cabadbaran
[edit]I think I see what you were trying to do. When you want to move a page to a new name, you must not copy and paste the contents to the new name, because that loses the contribution history which must be retained for copyright purposes. See WP:MOVE. I am going to nominate the new name for deletion to make way to do a proper move. Don't panic, in the end we will accomplish what you wanted. Gigs (talk) 14:56, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Proposed category merger
[edit]The related Category:State Colleges and Universities in the Philippines has been nominated for deletion, merging, or renaming. You are encouraged to join the discussion on the Categories for Discussion page. |
I've proposed that the category you created be merged with the previously existing Category:State universities and colleges in the Philippines, which seems to be about the same subject matter. You can follow the link in the notice above if you want to join in the discussion. --RL0919 (talk) 21:14, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
Name of Cagayan de Oro
[edit]When requesting that a page be moved, you actually want to use the instructions at WP:Requested move. However, that page was just recently moved from Cagayan de Oro City to the current page at Cagayan de Oro. The discussion for this occurred at Talk:Baguio, as there were a large number of Philippine cities whose names all had the "city" part removed. Please take a look at that discussion; if you still have concerns, start a new discussion (not a requested move, as you can't just try to move back in so little time), and see what the explanation was. You may also want to contact some of the editors in that discussion on Talk:Baguio as to why they wanted the "city" dropped from so many articles, as they may be able to best explain why that was done. Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175
[edit]Dear BrainyDude27,
Greetings!
As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.
Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.
Thank you and maraming salamat po!
Kind regards,

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
