Deletion/Archive talk page comments

[edit]

Isn't a discussion page for discussion? Seems kind of like it defeats the purpose to respond by deleting everyone else's comments. And this seems like it belongs on your user page. 71.10.116.45 08:09, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving talk pages is pretty common. Please stop beating around the bush and state your business. Brian G. Crawford 15:33, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you believe deleting entire discussions, such as this one, qualifies as archiving? -- backburner001 22:07, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go away. Brian G. Crawford 22:07, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please remain civil. It was an honest question. I don't see that discussion in your archive. Why is that? -- backburner001 22:10, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Last Strike of The Samuri Robots

[edit]

Very Well, you have chosen to delete the statements, but bear this in mind, denial does not solve a single thing, you still will be hated by the fans of Gundam, and bear that in mind, for you will soon go to wikihell...And face final JUDGEMENT...

EDIT: Frankly it's funny you tried to delete Gundam from wikipedia, but alas, we who enjoy Gundam feel that your silly little crusade was, how you say, humorously futile (a.k.a. you FAIL!) But you'll probably try again, and fail again. Oh wait no, you're in wikihell. Nevermind. HA! -GAT

Queef porn

[edit]

Your edit to vaginal flatulence is appreciated. I understand why you would think that the pornography section would be either incorrect or perhaps a hoax. I assure you that it's real, and can even suggest some reading [1] The reason there are no inline links (any more) was that early on I and some other editors agreed that the links that were there were there for the sole purpose of advertising. As such they were removed. If you find a good either non-commercial or otherwise educational link for a citation, please do add it. Meanwhile, I've restored the text. -Harmil 23:25, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of {{sex-stub}} from Cleveland steamer

[edit]

Please see the Cleveland steamer talk page. -- backburner001 21:33, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again, please. -- backburner001 12:49, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another Brian G.?

[edit]

Hi, I notice that there's another account with a name similar to yours - Special:Contributions/BrianGCrawfordMA. Is this an impersonator or an alternate account? If it's the latter, you may want to use Template:User Alternate Acc or Template:User Alternate Acc Anon. Cheers, Ziggurat 00:07, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's my old account. I don't use it anymore. Brian G. Crawford 17:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mung prod

[edit]

I noticed you prodded the Mung article. I'm not planning on removing the prod, but why not just redirect to Mung bean? I suspect that's what most people want when they type in "mung" in the search box anyway. Andrew Lenahan - Starblind 03:35, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a great idea. I'd do it, but I get enough hate mail already. Brian G. Crawford 03:39, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

speedy

[edit]

If the article is going through AFD there's no need for a speedy tag. AFD will take care of it and keeping a speedy tag on it clogs up the category administrators go through to evaluate other speedy candidates. · Katefan0 (scribble)/poll 03:33, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal

[edit]

I propose List of people whom Brian G. Crawford pissed off. LOL - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 20:36, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea, but I'd vote to delete it! :-) Brian G. Crawford 20:38, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But then I'd vote to veto your vote!

WikiHell

Sorry to hear you're in WikiHell, but I love the OTT image you've used to symbolise it. Tyrenius 21:00, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD aggregation

[edit]

Your idea is sound, but, as I noted on CrzRussian's talk, where one references an old AfD, he/she ought properly to reference the rationale ostensibly underlying the taken decision (and, of course, the fact that the argument for the eventual disposition persuaded xx valulable contributors), in lieu of his/her simply referencing the decision, in view of no binding decisions. With respect to Crz's contribution above, I think List of people whom Brian G. Crawford did not piss off might be easier to compile; it would certainly be shorter, I imagine. But, of course, while one ought to strive to avoid pissing everyone off, one who pisses off no one likely isn't doing a very good job of editing articles and surely isn't doing a good job of contributing to Wikispace discussions. Apropos of Native Americans at Dartmouth College, your undertaking to merge the relevant sections into the broader articles is yet another excellent contribution; many, having found, most notably, AfD and AN/I, forsake article editing for Wikispace fighting, and, even as you participate frequently at AfD, you seem to remember that all aspects of the project, even those only tangentially related to individual articles, exist toward the betterment of the project. Btw, I've been meaning to ask whether you enjoyed your time at Dartmouth. I visited only once but took quite a liking to the environs; having learned, though, that Snyder's Pretzels is headquartered in Hanover, PA, rather than in Hanover, NH, I had to knock D'mouth off my list, but I'm now considering attending once again. Joe 22:44, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not looking for precedents to shake in someone's face, and I'm not looking to create a set of binding precedents as in the common law. I just want to figure out a way to more reliably predict how an AfD discussion will go. I liked Dartmouth, and it should appeal to anyone who likes academic rigor and beer. Brian G. Crawford 23:50, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brian, I've noticed that you've lately focused primarily on AfD's. Just out of curiosity, why the change? I noticed that with your old user account, you mostly did article content edits. Tijuana Brass¡Épa!-E@ 08:19, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I did some hardcore academic edits in da hizzouse, and then I felt way stupid for writing articles in a pop culture encyclopedia, dude. Anyway, I have sockpuppets that do my writing for me. Brian G. Crawford 06:24, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your nomination of Cleveland steamer to WP:AFD

[edit]

Hi Brian, I'm having some real problems understanding your nomination of Cleveland steamer to be deleted. It is the 3rd nomination of this article in 6 months, and you don't add any new reasons to delete it in your nomination. You then add this edit which appears to be an attempt to make it look like the discussion has been closed with a decision to delete the article. You also include a personal attack on User:badlydrawnjeff. Can you please explain your reasoning for this nomination? Thanks, --Apyule 16:07, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another edit that I don't get

[edit]
I was looking through some related content, and I found this. You didn't just remove content that was unsourced; you removed the bits with a source [2], then everything in the article [3]. You may not like the source that I used, but that is something to be discussed on the talk page, not something to unilaterally delete. Why did you remove this content then lie about it? --Apyule 16:34, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent conduct is under review

My own editor review

[edit]

Just thought I'd let you know about my editor review. Comments on my performance as an editor would be appreciated, if you feel inclined to participate. -- backburner001 16:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Still around?

[edit]

Just wondered if you are still using Wikipedia? I got used to seeing your noms in AfD every day, and I haven't seen any for quite a while. Aguerriero (talk) 22:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Insults on Asperger's syndrome talk-page

[edit]

I propose that you remove your insults from the Asperger's syndrome talk page. If not, I will take further meassures against you. --Rdos 07:53, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. AvB ÷ talk 11:08, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

72 hour block

[edit]

Brian, I'm blocking you from editing for 72 hours because of your egregious and unacceptable personal attacks. I'm also removing those attacks from Talk:Asperger_syndrome. When your block expires, I expect you to treat all contributors to the encyclopedia — including those you disagree with — with scrupulous civility, or you I will block you again, and for a longer time. Nandesuka 11:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brian, what is going on with you? First you claim you are leaving (again) and now you are back (again), and seemingly not in a very constructive frame of mind. Is there anything that I can do to help here? I'm glad that you're back if you intend to get on with editing the encyclopaedia, but if you're not going to contribute anything except for vicious attacks then what is the point? Please calm down, and please try and avoid incivility and PAs when your block expires. There just isn't any need for it. The only damage you are doing is to yourself. Badgerpatrol 12:02, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brian, please chill. I can't imagine what's caused this series of outbursts. Incidentally, you might be interested to know that User:Rdos has been forcibly prevented from reposting his theory on his user page (much to his disgust). Anyway, I don't want to see you kicked off the project and I don't want to see you walk away either. I know that real life can intervene (see my recent timeout). Email me if you want to talk about unblocking; an expression of regret should satisfy the blocking admin. Nobody wants the POV pushers to drive away good, honest contributors. Just zis Guy you know? 21:38, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see. So User:JzG and Brian are pals. I think I understand a little better now. Nice to have in my Wikipedia internals article. --Rdos 06:41, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rdos, you should go away and leave me alone and never, ever post to my user page or try to communicate with me in any way. I suggest that you be very careful about baiting me. Brian G. Crawford 06:50, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No sooner said than done

[edit]

Oh well, fair enough, Brian- I'm afraid you've dug your own hole here. People have, and are continuing, to try and help you. I, at least, won't in future. I think your stock of good faith around here is rapidly diminishing- assuming there is any left at all. All the best, Badgerpatrol 23:16, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good riddance to bad rubbish. One of the oldest tricks is to say "we're all concerned about you and wish we could help, if only you could...." Just because you're British doesn't make you better at mind games. I've graduated from an Ivy League university, and I've done hard time behind concrete walls for assault, my friend. I think I know human nature a little better than you do. If we were to meet face to face, you'd be at a distinct disadvatage as per my fingernails in your carotid sinus. As it is, you just look like what you are: a garden variety punk high on a couple of glasses of chardonnay from his grad school spring reception. Decide which you desire to finish more, my efforts at Wikipedia, or the parts of your dissertation that might keep a sad sack such as you in fellowship. Brian G. Blocked

[edit]

Brian, I've blocked you for ten days for your threat and personal attack above. I hope you're feeling less aggressive when you return. JDoorjam Talk 05:49, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Damn, Brian, you really need to take a hold of yourself. I said before - send rants to me by email. Carry on like this and you're going to get indef-bl;ocked, and the only people who will be happy about that are the ones who want to add sophomoric nonsense. Just zis Guy you know? 09:19, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Really, we can afford to have you go batshit and be perma-blocked for it. Please send me an email and let's talk about your issues. Ever finish that Greek/Latin major btw? I almost went to Dartmouth to pursue Ivory Tower shit, but after an attack of common sense, I ended up going to NYU on scholarship... - CrazyRussian talk/email 21:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
