Image tagging for Image:Hasa.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hasa.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Hasa2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hasa2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Bader Bin Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Jalawi Al Saud, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Bader Bin Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Jalawi Al Saud. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Slgr@ndson (page - messages - contribs) 19:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not perform "cut and paste moves"

[edit]

It appears you are new user to Wikipedia based on your move of Al-Hasa. If so, please look at Help:Moving a page. Instead of cutting and pasting the contents of a page, you should use the "move page" function. As Help:Moving a page states,

I have returned the Al-Hasa page to it's original location but have kept the changes you made at the Al-Ahsa location. If you want to move it, a good way to proceed would be to request a move at Wikipedia:Requested moves.

Also, see below for my comments on other Hasa/Al-Ahsa issues. —  AjaxSmack  06:22, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Al-Hasa

[edit]

I have posted this at Talk:Al-Hasa also.

Different contexts

[edit]

As far as I can gather, there are three meanings of Al-Hasa/Al-Ahsa. One is the city of Hofuf (الهفوف). The second is the traditional region of Al-Hasa (الأحساء). The third is the current district or municipality of Al-Ahsa (محافظة الأحساء). These three senses of Al-Hasa should be kept in separate articles as their meanings and even locations are different. —  AjaxSmack  06:22, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Municipality, District, or what?

[edit]

It seems that the Saudi Arabian Government has a Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs (وزارة الشئون البلدية والقروية?)[1] but I don't know what municipality refers to there. It lists what it calls municipalities here.

Muhafazah (محافظة‎) is usually "governorate" in English but that is typically for countries where it is a first level subdivision (e.g. Egypt, Jordan, Yemen) but in Saudi Arabia, it is a second level division below the provinces (mintaqah منطقة‎).

Since the mintaqah are usually called provinces in English (see: Provinces of Saudi Arabia), the muhafazah should not be called provinces.

I have posted this at Talk:Al-Hasa. Please comment on it and whether you think 2 articles is appropriate. —  AjaxSmack  04:24, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Al-Hasa

[edit]

All I actually did was put that request on WP:RM. You aren't actually suppose to put that on the article page, if you look here, you'll see that nothing is suppose to go on the article page, especially not a signature (see here). -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 22:55, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The request for a page move of Al-Hasa is now at Talk:Al-Hasa. Go there to vote and, with no opposition, the page should be moved. —  AjaxSmack  01:48, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Garahtowaitheer.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Garahtowaitheer.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 10:23, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please try and always use edit summaries

[edit]

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Siemens.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Siemens.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 10:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Baderjalawi.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Siemens Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Orphaned non-free image File:Siemens.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Siemens.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 06:34, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Garahmountain.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Garahmountain.jpg, which you've sourced to taken by a friend and posted in : http://www.sanabes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24660&goto=nextnewest. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
