License tagging for Image:PhoenixFinancialCenter.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:PhoenixFinancialCenter.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:07, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Merge tag removed
I reverted your merge tag on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Mormon for several reasons. First, it really doesn't make sense - one is about a specific church and the other is about a generic term. Also, you did not state any reason why you thought the two articles should be merged. If you really believe this makes sense, then replace the tags and start a new topic on the talk page for one article, with a note on the other article directing people to your discussion. -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 17:35, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of The mormon tabernacle organ
A tag has been placed on The mormon tabernacle organ, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g12.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Phgao 06:17, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
A Night at the Opera
Hi Carterdriggs. Just curious about your goal with the page move and redirect changes: were you trying to make A Night at the Opera (film) the primary topic? I wasn't clear, because you didn't end up moving it to the primary page name. Just in case you didn't know, a disambiguation page often is not named with "(disambiguation)" at the end; the guidelines are at Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Page naming conventions. Anyway, I just wanted to clear up any confusion. Cheers, --Paul Erik 18:21, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Biased
[copied from RUS's talk page—I assume this was from you?]
It would appear you are apparantly biased to the LDS religion. The article about the Tabernacle Organ you keep nominating for speedy deletion is obviously no longer a copyright infringement, and I'm going to have to ask the administrators for mediation should you continue in this manner. Please leave the article alone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.208.62.36 (talk) 04:23, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- The first few sections are verbatim quotes from the webpage I specified. Merely adding to the article doesn't nullify the violation in the first few paragraphs. I stand by my assertions. Rich Uncle Skeleton (talk) 04:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 09:11, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi and welcome
I hadn't really come across you before your comment on my talk page, and I wanted to welcome you. I'm interested in your demographic, and think it could be valuable to have your input on several Wikipedia articles. It must be a unique experience being a gay Mormon in the military. I hope you'll take a look at Homosexuality and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (which is currently a mess), D. Michael Quinn, Evan Stephens, Louise B. Felt, and May Anderson. No problem, I looked deeper in the history and saw that it got attacked right after the last protection ran out, so I felt it needed it. I actually protected it right when GB was declining it, and then I went to explain and got 5 straight edit conflicts. Cheers! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) 22:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Wikify
Hi Carter. Thank you for your continued wikification efforts. You originally listed yourself as a member of the WikiProject under your old username, carterdriggs. A recent audit of project members determined that "carterdriggs" was now inactive (since October 2007, as you might appreciate). Feel free to update your member status at the WikiProject's list of participants. Cheers. – Liveste (talk • edits) 01:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC).

Latter Day Saint movement
Hi; I noticed on Mormon you commented that Latter-day Saint movement is correct, as opposed to Latter Day Saint movement. You may want to review the [[W{:LDSMOS|Latter Day Saint Manual of Style]]. "Latter Day Saint" is used on WP when we are referring to more than one church. The lower-case and hyphenated "Latter-day" is only used by the LDS Church and so is inappropriate when referring to the overall movement of Latter Day Saint churches. Note also that the article is at Latter Day Saint movement, with the capital-"D" and without a hyphen. Thanks. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:37, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
offline question about Phoenix history
Carter, how are you? If you are same Carter Driggs who is the Phoenician and photographer, something tells me you may know a thing or two about the architectural history of Western Savings in the PHX area -- not just the Financial Center, but the art and architecture of the branches. You may be interested in this page I'm eager to expand: http://www.waltlockley.com/westernsavings/westernsavings.htm. Consider RfA withdrawal?
If you want, you have the option of withdrawing your current RfA request. This might be in your best interest, as future opposes will probably reiterate the same items over and over. In terms of feedback/encouragement, I'm not sure how much more you can really get. At this point, I don't see how it can pass based on several of the reasons given, and often a civil and well worded withdrawal is good to have if you were to consider a third RfA. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:25, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I appreciate your concern, but I'm going to wait this one out. At least for a day maybe two. I'll withdraw then. Possibly. Thanks again. As for the BLP concern, it was a mistake, and recent, but other things should be looked at. Everyone makes mistakes, and I personally feel that I shouldn't be held to just that one edit. I have a lot of potential, and I hope people see that. Carter | Talk to me 17:32, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I understand. The BLP concern is mostly that it was just so recent. For an admin, this mistake would be considered egregious. It is such an important policy issue. Furthermore, there are other very valid concerns brought up by myself and others, regarding talk activity and afd participation.
- Carter, I wanted to make a note on something else that I noticed you did. After receiving oppose reasons based on an answer you gave to an optional question, you deleted that answer and gave a new one. There is no official policy against doing this in your RfA, but it is really highly improper, and I expect you should have known this. I was going to bring this up elsewhere, but considering how your RfA is going, I don't feel it is neccesary. You should be aware, though, that it doesn't look good. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:38, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- At first I answered without consulting the actual text, then updated it once I had. I don't feel it was too wrong to answer the question correctly, regardless of the fact that it was after text had already been placed there. I don't see it as an issue. Carter | Talk to me 17:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- It was still improper to delete your incorrect answer altogether. It's not a test, the questions are given to see how well you understand policy. If you decided first to not consult policy with your answer, and other people voted based on that, you don't get to just go back and change it. That's not how it works, and now I'm quite concerned that you "don't see it as an issue". If you weren't already in SNOW territory, I would have considered making a large note about this on the RfA itself, but I wont't. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

- Hey, I hope you don't mind my butting in. Please don't take the harsh comments in the RfA discussion personally. Yes, everyone makes mistakes -- and unless those mistakes result in death or physical destruction, intelligent people look beyond petty and silly mistakes, and acknowledge that people can improve and learn from their shortcomings. Just my two cents. Ecoleetage (talk) 00:35, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Closed
I have closed your RfA per your request. Do not be down-hearted, and if the concerns raised by the opposers are dealt with, the next RfA will be successful. Best regards, EJF (talk) 10:21, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm ok, but I made some silly mistakes and I certainly won't nominate myself again. I'll gain enough experience to hopefully have someone nominate me next time around when I can demonstrate a better understanding of policy. Carter | Talk to me 10:30, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- The best of luck the next time you decide to run. If you are interested in reading up more on policy and guidelines, I suggest you read the editor's index to Wikipedia; it is a very lengthy list containing all policies and guidelines and other pages, it will take a long time to read through! I see you undid my revision. Can you please quickly point out to me where in that source it gives the name of his siblings, outside of the older sister? Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 18:59, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
And if you can't find it, would you mind taking that out of the article yourself? I don't like having multiple reverts over a minor issue. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 19:03, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I went ahead and added additional refs which should suffice, besides the fact that it's pretty common knowledge. Everything does need a ref I understand, and I hope they meet with your approval. Carter | Talk to me 19:07, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but those sources don't suffice, ktimothy and rickey are both essentially blog sites, no way reliable sources. Furthermore, it's unlikely that "Jazzy" is an actualy name for one of his siblings, just a nick name. Would you mind removing this from the page, I don't want to get into an edit war. Let me know if you have additional questions regarding those sources. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 19:12, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I changed it to a reliable source that's not a blog site I just found. The text really does not need to be removed. As for me, I'm done working for the day and am going home. Please, as I asked, discuss on the talk page of the article as there is obviously some dispute. Carter | Talk to me 19:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I brought it here because you undid my removal of the siblings names (with no sources), your undo had a source that didn't state them. You since have added three unreliable sources. I'm not here to argue, just to help. You really need to read WP:SOURCE, because even after trying to advise you here, that final source was also just a link to some company's website with superlative info about Archuleta, no way reliable. I'm going to remove the siblings names until a real news source can be provided. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 19:21, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Carter, thanks for helping out with this comment. I'm glad you and I were able to come to an agreement over this, and I'd also be glad if you will be able to continue to help out with this page. There are several new user's who are adding unsourced data quite often, it's good that you have your eye on this. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs
- Certainly. I'm watching it of course, and will do everything I can. Let me know if you need help on anything else, although, as you might know, I've been pretty busy over the last two days. could you please do me a favor?
Hello,
I am a master student at the Institute of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Currently I am wrapping up my master thesis titled “Can Wikipedia be used for knowledge service?” In order to validate the knowledge evolution maps of identified users in Wikipedia, I need your help. I have generated a knowledge evolution map to denote your knowledge activities in Wikipedia according to your inputs including the creation and modification of contents in Wikipedia, and I need you to validate whether the generated knowledge evolution map matches the knowledge that you perceive you own it. Could you please do me a favor?
- I will send you a URL link to a webpage on which your knowledge evolution map displays. Please assign the topic (concept) in the map to a certain cluster on the map according to the relationship between the topic and clusters in your cognition, or you can assign it to ‘none of above’ if there is no suitable cluster.
- I will also send a questionnaire to you. The questions are related to my research topic, and I need your viewpoints about these questions.
The deadline of my thesis defense is set by the end of June, 2008. There is no much time left for me to wrap up the thesis. If you can help me, please reply this message. I will send you the URL link of the first part once I receive your response. The completion of my thesis heavily relies much on your generous help.
Sincerely

{{toolong}} tag on 15 Head Theatre Lab vs {{intro-toolong}}
Hi, I just came across this article and I noticed that you put the {{toolong}} tag on it here last month. It seems like the article is only a few paragraphs long. I'd like to make a friendly reminder that if you want to use a tag to indicate an exceedingly long introduction, the {{intro-toolong}} template is more appropriate. Thanks, Lisatwo (talk) 00:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Adding FA cat
Why are you adding the category featured articles to some FAs? The template {{Featured article}} covers this. Am I missing something, has there been a specific request to add them? Thanks. Regards. Woody (talk) 12:04, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't know the template covered that. I just saw the category, and that the articles weren't in them. My mistake. Carter | Talk to me 12:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, someone else had the same idea as well, straight after you except with a different capitalisation! It is a hidden category so you can't see it anyway. Regards. Woody (talk) 12:41, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Salt Lake Tabernacle organ article
Hi there, just a recommendation for the article: I'd really like to see it with more third party sources. There are no quality articles on important church/temple organs so far so i'd like to see it succeed. I feel your GA nomination was a little premature but i hope to see it pass. However, if further sourcing is not found I will raise questions of its reliance on primary sources and notability in the GA nomination. I hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck with the sourcing. Spam in Pearl River (company)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Pearl River (company), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Pearl River (company) is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Pearl River (company), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
