Speedy deletion nomination of Grand Reefer
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Grand Reefer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:17, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- In response to your question, non-internet sources are also useable. The standard criterion for inclusion is explained here, and there's a special music one here. In practice, most sources are on the internet anyways, though newspaper and books scans are often not accessable to the Google. If you have any questions, please ask. [edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Stop inserting references to "Grand Reefer" into articles. That band doesn't satisfy notability. The Master ---)Vote Saxon(--- 14:37, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]You have been here for nearly a year and so far you've only created an article about Grand Reefer (which was deleted three times for failing to establish their notability). All your other edits have been to the outsider music article, primarily to add this band's name to it, which gives the impression you are somehow connected to this otherwise obscure local band which, as you say, hasn't done much in roughly 13 years. The subjects of biographical articles must satisfy the WP:Notability policy, and bands must specifically satisfy WP:BAND. Please read those. To establish notability, you have to provide reliable sources. Newspaper or magazine articles, books, etc. Please see WP:RS. The Master ---)Vote Saxon(--- 01:49, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Master (talk • contribs) 03:42, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Signing
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at User talk:The Master, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you.
PS The above is a 'template' message, this is from me.
It's no big deal, we all forget to sign sometimes, as someone has just above. I came here after seeing the discussion at the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents (WP:AN/I) here .
Please don't talk the 'notability' issue too hard, we can't have a page on everyone. You aren't the first person to have a bio that is deleted, some of them are Wikipedia editors too! I hope you will be found to be a notable artist, but it takes work!'' 220 of Borg 06:01, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
