Verifiability

[edit]

Can you please spend a moment to have a read through Wikipedia:Verifiability - remember above all else Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and our content must be verifiable! Thanks/wangi 20:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tom Markwell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Renesis (talk) 14:21, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to change the population in this article you will need to cite the source of your information so that others can verify that it is correct. You see the <ref name="population">{{cite web | title = Population Matters | work = Dundee City Council | url = http://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/ptrans/popmatts.pdf | accessdate = 2006-07-06 }}</ref> that is in the text after the population figure. That generates the little [1] next to the figure whcih is a link to the listing in the references section. If you want your changes to stick you will have to change it to cite the source you are using. You can read more about this at WP:CITE.  YDAM TALK 18:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Markwell, again

Please do not recreate this article, as it does not meet our standards for articles about people. You may find our guide to your first article helpful. Christopher Batten

[edit]

Hey Christopher. Your page Christopher Batten must have gotten deleted before you got the chance to put the hangon message on it. When I saw it, all it had in it was {{hangon}}. Why don't you work on the article on your user page or a subpage of it like User:Cbatten565/Christopher Batten. When it's done, you can show it to me or another editor and we can decide whether it's suitable for an article in wikipedia, and we can move it to the main article space if it is. Please note, though, that the article won't be allowed unless you're somewhat famous or otherwise notable. That is because all articles must be attributable to reliable sources, and if you're not famous there's not going to be enough info on you to verify the article. Leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or want to discuss anything. delldot talk 19:32, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Clare Szembek

Bio Pages

[edit]

A biographical article you have recently written may not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted criteria for inclusion of biographies. It has likely been marked for deletion. Don't worry, there are several other options:

With the above options your biography will be protected from being edited by others, unlike a Wikipedia article.

  • You may create a wiki at EditThis.info or one of the other wiki farms.
  • If you are attempting to make an entry for genealogical purposes, you may find WikiTree.org a useful site (but please do not simply copy material to Wikitree unless you are the original author - their license terms are different from Wikipedia's).
  • If you are, or intend to become, a regular Wikipedia contributor, please use your user page (user:Cbatten565) to post biographical information about yourself.
Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! Please feel free to delete this notice once the issue has been corrected.

- Philippe | Talk 17:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Be Be See you have recently written may not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted criteria for inclusion of bands or musical acts. It has likely been marked for deletion. Don't worry, there are several other options:

  • Create an entry for your band on one of the many social networking websites.
  • Many ISPs allow you to create your own website, often at no extra charge.

With the above options your band's page will be protected from being edited by others, unlike a Wikipedia article (which may be edited by anyone).

Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! Please feel free to delete this notice once the issue has been corrected.

AfD Nomination: Matt Gray

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Matt Gray meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Matt Gray. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Merope 13:59, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Gray

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Matt Gray, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Speedy deletion of Andis Shaila

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Andis Shaila requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. WikiZorrosign 18:50, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Tottenham Hotspur F.C., did not appear to be constructive and has been removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi. I have deleted one of your uploads as it was a blatant copyright violation. You should not upload images that you yourself don't own the right to. If you are unsure, you can ask me. I will be going through your other uploads to check for other violations. Rettetast (talk) 11:16, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
