Problems with upload of File:Sri Pada.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sri Pada.jpeg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:05, 18 December 2015 (UTC) Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Template:Sri Pada a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. [edit]Hi I try to keep conversations public, either on my talk page or someone else's. If you have anything else to say please use my talk page. By the way, Yobot isn't a person but a 'script' to help make automatic or semi-automatic edits. Doug Weller (talk) 19:36, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Srilankan Architecture
[edit]Hello Channasandeepanaperera,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Srilankan Architecture for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Iamoctopus (talk) 14:41, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
Talk:Srilankan Architecture
[edit]Please don't create talk pages for deleted articles. Start a draft in your sandbox, your userspace, etc. Doug Weller talk 16:13, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
- It really should be obvious that we can't have basically empty articles. Doug Weller talk 16:16, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
Adam's Peak
[edit]Please stop. You've been told that the English language Wikipedia uses the most often used name found in reliable English language sources. I wouldn't go to the Tamil wikipedia and try to rename it. Doug Weller talk 16:15, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
Your last 2 edits
[edit]I'm not sure what you were trying to do, but it didn't work. Were you trying to use one of our articles as a source for another one? We never do that as we aren't reliably published, as anyone can edit an article. Doug Weller talk 16:57, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
