Category:Lists of Wikipedia requests for comment
There is a CfD debate over the existence of Category:Lists of Wikipedia requests for comment. Your bot strikes me as the one most likely to care if this category is deleted. Does it?--Mike Selinker (talk) 16:19, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

GA bot
Hi Chris, the bot has listed Artabanes (general) as being nominated at GAN, but in fact this was passed in 2010. I can't see why this is as the article history is correct as far as I can tell, I did add a link to the review page. Jezhotwells (talk) 16:40, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- It appears to have been accidentally renominated briefly yesterday, but the editor who did that removed the nomination template yesterday. Jezhotwells (talk) 16:48, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. As far as I can see, it seems to have fixed itself. --Chris 11:17, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Skyfall
It might be a press release, but the official synopsis is equally vague. "No matter how personal the cost" is more open to interpretation than anything in the existing outline. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 07:35, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

You should make the RfC bot skip HTML comments
Example why [1]. It seems that it parsed the date inside the comment as the end of a signature. So it copied only the opening HTML comment tag into the page with obviously disastrous results. ASCIIn2Bme (talk) 11:13, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Subcategories At GA
Hi Chris,
There is a discussion here about splitting the music and tv categories on the GAN page. If it is agreed to it would probably involve some changes to how the bot operates. You might like to comment on any technical or other aspects relating to the idea before it is developed much further. Regards AIRcorn (talk) 01:13, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've responded there. --Chris 06:47, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Why did RFC bot remove comments?
In this edit, RFC bot inexplicably removed comments <!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
from a number of posts. Was there a reason for this, or is it just a bug in the bot? Anomie⚔ 17:33, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Vilyam Genrikhovich Fisher: GAN Assessment
Article: Vilyam Genrikhovich Fisher.
Twice I've listed the above article for GAN assessment. Even before it get's reviewed within a few minute's it gets removed by the GA BOT. Why? What am I able to do to get ot assessed as GAN? Adamdaley (talk) 07:58, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- The problem is, you are directly adding the nomination to the Wikipedia:Good article nominations, which is not how the bot works. To nominate an article please read Wikipedia:Good article nominations/guidelines. In this case, you would add
{{subst:GAN|subtopic=War and military}}
to Talk:Vilyam Genrikhovich Fisher. The bot will then deal with the rest. Hope this helps --Chris 08:48, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

botclasses
Hi Chris,
Would you see any harm in me adding a class to Botclasses which just extends "extended" and is used to access the LyricWiki API? I'm a committer to the Perl MediaWiki API client (and MediaWiki core & Wikia) and we just did something similar in perl by adding a LyricWiki module. I think this is something which would add cool functionality to Botclasses without getting in the way of it's other uses, but I wanted to get your take on it too. Any thoughts? :)
Thanks,
-SColombo (talk) 19:36, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- That sounds interesting and useful, I'm quite happy for it to become part of botclasses. --Chris 16:58, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Great! :) I got it working for all of the LyricWiki calls and made an example file which uses each of them.
- I apparently have an old toolserver account, but can't get the keys to work. What should I do w/the code? Email you?
- Thanks,

Use of the 'hlist' class
I was wondering if you are going to have RFC bot use the 'hlist' class. See example below.
|list1=<nowiki/> <ul class="hlist"> * Item 1 * Item 2 * Item 3 </ul>
Please see if this can be done with or without the nowiki tag. – Allen4names 05:40, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, you're going to have to be more specific where you think it should be used? At the moment I haven't seen any problems with the page layout --Chris 16:24, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- I am concerned because the use of {{Dot}} is depreciated. {{Flatlist}} could also be used. – Allen4names 16:45, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Question about my BRFA
Thanks for starting the trial period and I'll get to work on that. Before I do I wanted to clarify #4. Did you approve the task for the all 8 items or one in specific? Based on your comment I'm not completely clear and I wanted to make sure before I started. --Kumioko (talk) 18:05, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I approved for all 8. --Chris 05:26, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Greetings Chris, I just wanted to drop you a note that I completed the trial edits for those bot tasks. Please let me know if you need me to do anythign else. --Kumioko (talk) 01:48, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
New Cats at Good article
Hi Chris. I think it is safe to assume that we can add new categories to the GAN page. The easiest way would probably be to add {{subst:GAN|subtopic=Songs}}, {{subst:GAN|subtopic=Albums}} and {{subst:GAN|subtopic=Episodes}} to the bot. Music and Theatre, film and drama could then default to the "Other" section. I will create the new categories and sort the current nominations manually when everything is ready. Let me know if I can help in any other way. AIRcorn (talk) 23:57, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I've made the updates and it seems to be working. Once most of the items in "Theatre, film and drama" have been recategorised, all you need to do is remove the section heading, and those will then be categorised under "Miscellaneous" --Chris 16:49, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking that on. Is it possible to change the arrangement of the categories slightly. "Albums" and "Songs" would fit in better as sub-categories of "Music" and "Episodes" would fit in better under "Theatre, film and drama". I have made an example in the history of the GAN page here. Sorry for the inconvenience. AIRcorn (talk) 23:51, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks again for all your work. I changed the name of the "other" section headings on theWP:GA page in response to some comments. It doesn't appeared to have caused any problems yet, the bot has run a few times, but thought I should check to make sure it won't screw anything up. Revert back if you need to. AIRcorn (talk) 11:25, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
Glitch
I'm attempting a simple name change but the bot doesn't recognize my name [diff] for some reason. It thinks I logged in as [[User:Hodgson-Burnett's Secret Garden|]], with a / & # 3 9 ; / and a /|/ , instead of User:Hodgson-Burnett's Secret Garden.--Hodgson-Burnett's Secret Garden (talk) 23:02, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

- The RfC was removed; it's better to wait for now, rather than reposting it in the "AfD template does not suffice" section of the Template talk:Article for deletion page. People don't seem interested in modifying the AfD template at this time. There wasn't much productive discussion there. Northamerica1000(talk) 08:03, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
RFC bot is edit-warring at Talk:Demi Moore
It's insisting that the RfC is expired and removing the template, despite the fact that the debate is not yet over. (This was also brought up at the village pump.) Since it's your bot, you probably ought to do something about it. elektrikSHOOS (talk) 08:39, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
