Welcome![edit]

Hello, Ckelly627, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as LinksDAO, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

A tag has been placed on LinksDAO, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi Praxidicae, thank you for reviewing my article on LinksDAO. Yes, I am a member of the organization, but I felt that the style of the article was encyclopedic in nature, as I cited reputable third-party news sources on the launch of the organization and its structure, while trying not to promote or advertise. If you could please note the areas in the draft that you flagged for these reasons, I would be happy to go back and edit in order to be in compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you! A tag has been placed on LinksDAO, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

Request reason:

I apologize for submitting an article that was deemed as promotional and advertising a particular subject. Following the deletion of the initial article, I revised it to make the content more encyclopedic in nature and resubmitted. If my account were to be reinstated, I will submit any further articles through the review process so that I can be in compliance with all Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you for your consideration and I once again apologize for these mistakes. Ckelly627 (talk) 01:05, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You mention you are editing for your employer but I do not see where you made the Terms of Use-required paid editing disclosure; I may have missed it. You, like many in your position, seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding as to what Wikipedia is. It is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves and what they do. That's considered promotional here, you do not have to be solciting or selling something. Wikipedia is not a directory where existence warrants a mention; this is an encyclopedia with criteria for inclusion, called notability- such as the definition of a notable company. An article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the definition of a notable company. Press releases, staff interviews, announcements of routine business activities like raising capital or sales, brief mentions, or primary sources do not establish notability. We aren't interested in what the company does, we are interested in what people unconnected with the company say about what the company does and why it is significant or notable. This means that not every company merits an article, even within the same field(you've already had WP:OSE mentioned to you). Feel free to show your employer this message. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to be a more general contributor and edit about Joe Biden or math or science or history or anything unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell us what topics you might edit about. If you build up a good edit history demonstrating that you understand Wikipedia content and sourcing guidelines, you may later be permitted to indirectly contribute about your company, but not now. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:00, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for the comprehensive explanation. I apologize for the confusion around the nature of my engagement as I am a member of the organization, but was unsure of whether to include that as a conflict of interest or a paid editor. I can change my profile accordingly if I were to regain access. Regarding contributions moving forward, I am heavily involved in the golf and cryptocurrency/blockchain areas and believe that I could provide value to these topics within Wikipedia if I were to be unblocked. I realize that these are similar topics to my conflict of interest, but I could certainly write about more general subjects within each of these areas. Regarding the article that I previously wrote, I would like to try to resubmit it once I gain some additional credibility and experience as a Wikipedia editor. Decentralized autonomous organizations are becoming more and more common within the blockchain space and as more objective coverage of these structures (and hopefully my employer) get published, I would be interested to write about it again. I appreciate your consideration of my request for unblocking and hope that I can get another opportunity to contribute. Thank you.

Decline reason:

No thanks. I doubt any admin will unblock you in the near term to continue writing about subject areas for which you have a conflict of interest. If this is your only goal, this is the end of the line. Yamla (talk) 16:18, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
