Information icon Hello, I'm Amortias. I wanted to let you know that some of your recent contributions to G4S have been reverted or removed because they could be seen to be defamatory or libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Amortias (T)(C) 21:30, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Amortias; DChou88 here...how's the information defamatory or libelous when it's true?? How's it defamatory or libelous as compared to the corporate controversies noted???
DChou88, the material you added falls under WP:EXCEPTIONAL and requires some pretty good sourcing to be kept. I agree with you that if it's true, it's not defamatory - you just need to prove it's true when you add it. @Amortias: appears to have taken a broad use of the term - while not incorrect, I see how it was confusing to you. Toddst1 (talk) 21:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, Amortias; I appreciate the feedback...so please indulge me a big more: by "prove" do you mean I have to link to some external news item or something?? 'Cause I linked to Wikipedia's own articles -- are Wikipedia's own articles not enough "proof"? Thanks.
Hi, Todd; were you addressing me? Sorry, not sure.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by DChou88 (talkcontribs) 21:45, 13 June 2016‎
Yeah, you need to link to some reliable sources using citations. Wikipedia referring to itself could be a circular reference. Toddst1 (talk) 21:46, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OIC! Many thanks for the clarifications, everyone! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎ DChou88 (talkcontribs) 21:47, 13 June 2016
Don't be discouraged. We were all newbies here at one time. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask me or others for help if you have questions. Toddst1 (talk) 21:51, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, thanks -- may I ask what was wrong with my most recent edit? I cited an "external source" -- at http://www.theeventchronicle.com/orlando-shooting/orlando-shooter-omar-mateen-not-first-g4s-employee-go-deadly-rampage/ -- which I thought was legit...please advise; thanks again!! Ignore that - we have a vandalism-reverting robot that got confused. Sorry you're having a rough start here. Toddst1 (talk) 21:59, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, no problem, thanks for hand-holding me here! So may I go and edit with that citation now, or is there some kinda waiting period 'cause of the bot?? Thanks again. DChou88 (talk) 22:02, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Edit at will. Toddst1 (talk) 22:12, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 21:47, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Will do -- done! -- thanks for the info!DChou88 (talk) 21:58, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
