Uptown (Youngstown)[edit]

Hi, thanks for creating this article! I'm keen to see content on local history, but I'm sorry to warn you but this article has the same problem the previous editor noted–all information on Wikipedia should be verifiable, meaning cited to a specific source that has been published. Articles without sources can be deleted for failing verifiability and failing to demonstrate notability, so it's important that this is fixed. I often recommend to new article creators to cut the article down to basic facts that you can demonstrate are true (four or five sentences is perfectly fine for a new article) and then add more material that can be verified from there. A short article that is demonstratably true is much less likely to be deleted than a long one full of claims without sources.

If what you to do is write material from your own knowledge but that isn't based on previously published material, this can't be done on Wikipedia. You would be better off writing it on another website, like a blog focused on local history. (And I really do recommend doing this if this is your interest: I know from experience in the UK that local history and industrial history societies can collect tremendously interesting material that before the internet they had trouble finding ways to get published, and that knowledge could easily be lost as older people died off.)

Incidentally, if you want to cite the same extensive source (like a book) in multiple places in the same article, this is no problem. Just use the cite tool (which lets you paste in an ISBN and build the ref, too), type a name for the reference into "Ref name", hit preview, and then you can choose the reference from 'named references' and insert the same one in anywhere. Uptown (Youngstown) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Uptown (Youngstown), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
