Signature transclusion[edit]

Hi Deba, I noticed your comment on User talk:Jimbo Wales, and your signature, and I thought that perhaps you were not aware of the signature guideline, which explains that users may not transclude signatures, due to a number of issues with doing this. For instance, if you change the page your signature is on, the database has to update every single page you've signed with the transclusion, which, after a while, gets to be a large amount of pages that need updating, and can cause server issues. I realize you're new, so it isn't a big deal, as you've likely not signed many pages, and they will be easy for you to go fix, but here is the passage explaining it: "Transclusions of templates and parser functions in signatures (like those which appear as {{User:Deba Tihs ´n´ Mad Dog/sig}}, for example) are forbidden." Take a look at the whole page, please, and it will explain how you can make a custom signature, using the "my preferences" link at the top right of your page, and I would request that you remove all signatures you've transcluded before the numbers are too difficult to track down. Please don't take this the wrong way, as I'm sure you were not aware of the issue, and I simply want to help you avoid any problems in the future. Thanks so much, and have a great weekend! Fair use rationale for Image:BBB cover Nightwish.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BBB cover Nightwish.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 21:57, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Rush – Profiled!, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rush – Profiled!. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 17:49, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:RushProfiled.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:RushProfiled.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.
  • If you believe the bot has made an error, please turn it off here and leave a message on my owner's talk page.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Everything Your Listeners Ever Wanted to Hear by Rush... But You Were Afraid to Play has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NALBUM. No significant coverage or other indication of notability. Not mentioned at Rush discography.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
