Proposed deletion of Mitchell Johnson with the Australian cricket team in the 2013–14 Ashes series
The article Mitchell Johnson with the Australian cricket team in the 2013–14 Ashes series has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:NOTESSAY? This article looks at just one players role with the team. Belongs either on that players page or the team page
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Gbawden (talk) 11:14, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Cricketer lists
Hi Dee. Thank you again for starting the lists for FC teams - I know how time consusming they can be to do. I think it's really important to have a list for each and every team as a starting point to see what articles for individuals are missing. I love working through them and completing the blanks. Hopefully others are inspired to do the same when they see there's a list for a team they'd like to work on. Obviously your time on here is to do as you see fit, but if you are able to complete lists for other Test nations (New Zealand only has this one!), then I'd be most grateful. Thanks again. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 14:38, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I was actually planning on working on New Zealand and West Indies team lists after completing the "big" FC teams of India (Hyderabad, Punjab, Baroda, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan remain). I think the tabular list format is quite time consuming, but I could definitely create simple lists ("name, span" format) for New Zealand teams after I'm done with the Indian teams. It's great to see someone willing to turn all those redlinks into blue. I think you're doing a fabulous job and hope you continue to do so. - Dee03 03:34, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- No problem. I think the "simple" lists are fine - it really does show the gaps! Thanks again for your work on this. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 10:36, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Dee. For info, I've just spotted that the List of Tamil Nadu cricketers stops at J! Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:43, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, somehow I forgot to complete it. Will finish that as well as this new list for Uttar Pradesh after a couple of days. I see the Bengal list now has only a few redlinks. Good job! - Dee03 11:20, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

- Nice one. Yes, I've done the Bengal list, with the exception of cricketers who have no birth/death details. I tend to avoid those. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:20, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Discussion about format in IPL 2016
Can we have a bit of a discussion on the format? I had actually edited it in accordance with the previous season's pages... May I know why was it reverted? Thanks... Cricket246 (talk) 16:26, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Playoffs need to be distinct and separate with separate edit options... For all the seasons we had this format... And this year shouldn't be any different... Cricket246 (talk) 16:28, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Previous season pages were badly maintained. We don't want to repeat that this year too. Dee03 16:31, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
What's the problem with the format I gave? It's much better than this... I mean both formats are same but in the format I edited there is separate edit icons for each playoff match... That's more informative... League stages and playoff matches should be distinct... Cricket246 (talk) 16:40, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
It's better to have the League stage and Playoff stage separately... No edits can be reverted without valid reasons... Cricket246 (talk) 16:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- They ARE distinct. They are in separate subsections. We don't need to have a separate sub-sub-subsection for each playoff match either. Dee03 16:43, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I just want to know what exactly are the problems with the proposed new format... Valid reasons should be there for rejecting a format... Cricket246 (talk) 16:43, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Why not? Playoffs are all distinct matches and subsections are already there... Cricket246 (talk) 16:44, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
What's the problem in having subsections? It makes the visual more clear... And editing each match is also easier... Cricket246 (talk) 16:45, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I don't agree with the old format anyway... So what should be done now, that a consensus is not reached? Cricket246 (talk) 16:46, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- As I explained in the edit summary your format makes no logical sense. I like the format used on 2011 Indian Premier League where you have a separate article for the league stage matches. I'm inclined to implement that here. Dee03 16:47, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Also can you post all your thoughts in a single message? Each time I tried to edit this page, I was getting an edit conflict. Also the discussion would be more readable if you WP:INDENT your messages. Dee03 16:50, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Umpires' names are not there... Cricket246 (talk) 16:53, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I think we don't need to do that... The league stages and all those are well maintained... I have maintained it myself strictly according to protocols... Cricket246 (talk) 16:55, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- They are there in the separate article I just mentioned! The main article provides an overview of the scores while the separate article goes in detail of each game (top-scorer, wicket-taker, man of the match, umpires etc). Helps to reduce the length of the main article too. Dee03 16:57, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
You can do it but it will become exceedingly complicated!!! But I think at least the playoffs matches should be distinct and clear... The proposed new format should be considered... Cricket246 (talk) 16:59, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Can I implement the new format for once? What's the harm in trying it out? Please reply... Cricket246 (talk) 17:11, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Gosh, you just keep reverting as and when you like. We, Wikipedia editors, are volunteers and have a LIFE outside of Wikipedia. You can't expect me to sit in front of my PC all day trying to convince you what's right. Thanks for reverting my edit again while I was gone for an hour. By doing so, you have obviously violated the WP:3RR rule and are liable to be blocked from editing if I report you. But I will not stoop to that. You can keep whatever format you please, I'm not going to intervene. But I can't spend the limited real life time I get for Wikipedia trying to tell you how things work on this site; it's like talking to a brick wall. I have articles to create and pages to improve, so I'll stick to that. You can do whatever you want with the article. Thank you. Dee03 17:57, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
And apologies for any problems caused.. Will take a look at all these rules... The article will be well maintained I promise... Ok thanks... Cricket246 (talk) 18:22, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- You can keep your apologies and promises with yourself. Novice editors like you cause more problems than you think. There's no way that article will go on WP:ITN this year looking at its current state. Ever did anything other than updating scores, umpires and toss information?Dee03 18:49, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I don't really want to argue on this anymore... It's okay... Opinion varies... I'll contribute only in those areas where I can... I'm under the guidance of some experienced editors and I'll learn from them what is needed to be done... The current state that the page is in is well and good... People are understanding it that's enough... It's quite informative... Cricket pages should be informative for the people to have a clear picture about it... And the article serves the purpose well... Entirely my opinion though, maybe wrong, but nevertheless my own viewpoint... Thanks for your opinion but I don't agree... Everyone has different views; to each his/her own... And which areas I want to contribute that's entirely my wish... You might have contributed a lot but you are no one to judge the worth of my contributions... Anyway I don't want to fight or argue about this anymore... Let's drop this topic now please... Thanks... No hard feelings... All the best... :) Cricket246 (talk) 22:23, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Let's stop being judgemental about each other and let's end this topic now... It's taking the shape of a fight and that is the last thing that I want to happen here in your Wikipedia talk page... Be a little compassionate towards the novices and their contributions... Won't do you much harm I can assure you... And for the love of heavens, please let's end this topic here... Thanks... No hard feelings please... Good luck for your future endeavours... :) Cricket246 (talk) 22:34, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Baba Sidhaye), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000.
