AfD nomination of Harriet Mead[edit]

I have nominated Harriet Mead, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harriet Mead. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. -Lilac Soul (talk contribs count) 21:12, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

March 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Harriet Mead has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlgol0lmrva). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 10:25, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Since you are new to wikipedia, I guess you are not familiar with some intricacies, in particular the ones about copyrights. For example, you cannot upload a photo of a work of art, unless you own it or you have a permission from the author to use its image under the Creative Commons license. Accordingly, in [ http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Harriet_Mead_Woodcock.jpg] you are not necessarily copyright holder of the work: making a snapshot of a sculpture does not transfer the copyright to you. Unless you provide a reasonable evidence of the release of the copyright, the image will be deleted. - 7-bubёn >t 21:34, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Suffolk Trinity by Harriet Mead.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Suffolk Trinity by Harriet Mead.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:38, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Peafowl by Harriet Mead.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 21:47, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My nomination withdrawn[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your mail. I have withdrawn my nomination for deletion of Harriet Mead. This is not a guarantee that it won't get deleted, but I would consider it unlikely, since I agree that you have now established notability. I apologize for being guilty of a case of wanting to demolishing the house while it was being built. Welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you'll enjoy being an editor. Cheers! -Lilac Soul (talk contribs count)I'm watching this page so just reply to me right here! 06:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Michael Lyons (Sculptor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://sansomandcompany.co.uk/product/the-sculpture-of-michael-lyons/?add-to-cart=1349. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello. I have also been preparing a site for Michael Lyons, but was told by one of the wiki reviewers do it through the wiki AfC and review process, add more references, do more work. I did that and it took weeks. Now someone else has created a site for Michael. Seems unfair that because I followed a review process all my work is now rejected. I assume it’s ok to add to the other site. Michael is my father in law so I have a lot of extra information. == Your submission at Articles for creation: Michael Lyons (sculptor) (July 24) ==

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Michael Lyons (sculptor), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:22, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Drsteveb. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Michael Lyons".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Bkissin (talk) 15:27, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
