Not sure if you work there or not?

[edit]

Hi there, I saw you were writing about a living history museum. I work at a museum, and it can be tricky to write about one's institution. You might not even work there, but just be a visitor, it does sound like a cool place! We actually have an entire group of volunteers involved in Wikipedia who write about museums. You can learn more about it here: Wikipedia:GLAM. If you need help with anything, just let me know! The place does deserve an article, it just can't use the website for the organization and has to be fully cited. Anything we can do from the GLAM volunteer side, let us know. Actually, I'm surprised there isn't an article on this place as it appears to be the largest tourist attraction in London, Ontario and pretty much anything similar (like Toronto's Black Creek Pioneer Village or Morrisburg's Upper Canada Village) is already here. I've added an infobox like the one on the Black Creek article; as there's a space for the organisation's own website in the infobox, that removes that link from the "external links" section entirely. I've admittedly only visited this place once (in 2003) but there are photos available on-line of the village which might fit the topic (finding one with a suitable license seems to be problematic, though). Overall, though, the page looks reasonably good at this point and no worse in quality than the other Pioneer Village pages for various towns. Pity to see it buried under 700 other pages of AfC backlog at the moment as other existing articles (such as Pioneer Village disambiguation, London Tecumsehs/Labatt Park, the List of museums in Ontario and Paul Peel) do mention this place as notable enough. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 04:22, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
