Spax (producer) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Spax (producer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi, I saw when you created Fresh VDM you gave the following as the edit summary: "The previous editor was amateur and could not create the page very well but the subject is notable, contacted the deletion admin before creating it". Who was it you contacted? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 19:22, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed paid editing warning

[edit]
Information icon

Hello Eddysocial. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Fresh VDM, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Eddysocial. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Eddysocial|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Celestina007 (talk) 21:32, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I have left this message because the nature of your edits are consistent with undeclared paid editing. Please note that our policy forbids this. Celestina007 (talk) 21:37, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Celestina007 first and foremost, I respect your work and effort in the Wikipedia community and I aspire to reach the level you are at, let me start with an introduction, my name is Eddy and I'm from south Africa, based in Nigeria, I'm in my 3rd year at the University of Lagos (music department) with my research based topic centered on Afrobeat, editing in Wikipedia space has been my hobby since I was too young, I saw your questions concerning UPE and believe me I get to know what it means since you mentioned it, I don't and I have not met any subject directly or indirectly, after studying about notability guidelines to know who is eligible and who's not, I research further to know where it looks such and find out is a mere trivial error, I was not conversant with how wikimedia common works hence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Eddysocial/Spax_(producer)#/media/File:Spax_Akano_Samuel.jpg thinking the image I fetch on google can be uploaded via the subject name, i agree i never know how it works but thanks i learned, again i have no connections to whosever i have published here, i will show proof of my identify if demanded but let me tell you that i dont know either whether directly or indirectly, im on adding any eligible afrobeat and nigeria music to the wikipedia.Eddysocial (talk) 07:36, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since Wikimedia Commons is 100% clear on what is and what is not allowed when uploading files regarding copyright, and since a person studying at a university is deemed to be sufficiently literate to understand what copyright means and how taking copyright works and placing them on Wikimedia Commons is copyright theft, I find your explanation to be less that adequate, and find good faith hard to assume. Note, please the statement "Copyright © 2021. All rights reserved" where you or another acquired the picture. I have flagged your upload as a copyright violation.
You need, now, to look at any files you have upload and flag all those with doubtful copyright for deletion yourself, not waiting for others to do this for you FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 07:46, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I also do not see a clear and unambiguous answer to the question about paid editing. I agree with @Celestina007 that your editing pattern appears to be congruent with that of paid editors. Your full and frank comments are required, please, before you edit further FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 07:49, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay sir, FaddleTalk to me let me tell you about myself, when I started I was so naive that I don't know it had rules until I further go deep into it, sounds weird but true, that's one of my personal attributions, I was so surprised when I start discovering so much here, the guidelines and all, initially I thought you can just copy and paste, I really feel bad being accused of what I never indulge, i'm here to contribute positively to the encyclopedia based on facts.Eddysocial (talk) 13:19, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Eddysocial I still do not see an unambiguous answer. Give it unambiguously.
I have no need to hear anything else. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 15:25, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, FaddleTalk to me the answer is NO Eddysocial (talk) 15:38, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clear statement. That is all I needed to hear FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 08:19, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
