Happy New Year

Hi Eric, I’ve just spent a maudlin, nostalgic hour trawling my archives and finding some forgotten and not so forgotten names. The astounding thing is how many of the very best editors we have lost through pure neglect of them and their thoughts. Of those I found this evening, you alone were sent packing the rest left of their own accord and few seem to miss them. I found five hugely prolific editirs who had slipped away unnoticed from just from my small circle, I wonder how many that is over the whole project. Anyhow, I thought I’d drop by to wish you a prosperous New Year and say that I do hope one day common sense will prevail and you will be restored to us.Have a great 2020. Giano, you could add the names you miss to the fly, if they are not there yet. Just click on it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:42, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
Indeed, Gerda Arendt, I could, and I just clicked, but decided against it. My friends, including Eric (sort of), are not really “fallen comrades” are they? More comrades who became grossly pissed off with place. Which is far better than being fallen. The “pissed off” can always be persuaded back, whereas the fallen are destined to lie perennially where they fell. Giano (talk) 21:51, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
Giano, you will have seen that the making and wording of Die Fliege is not by me. It was made for someone who was pissed off (Precious anniversary tomorrow), and lists several of that quality. Do as you like, of course, just explaining. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:02, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
Oh dear, we do seem to know a lots of socks don’t we? I expect if all the socks were exposed and banned, we’d only be left with Sandstein, a couple of Arbs and two of the most vocal and irritAting Admins. Giano (talk) 16:04, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
... and you and me ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:24, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

  • Oh how I miss Eric! The best of the best, that is for sure. Every so often in our life we meet a person that we know has somehow grasped life at its core, or however one might say that... (I'm not very good with words but he sure was). No prejudices for man nor woman alike, only stupidity which he was never afraid to point out. Gandydancer (talk) 17:54, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
