"Sir" is a title

[edit]

Hi there. I just wanted to explain about the reverts I made on your good faith edits. "Sir" is an honorific title used by knighted individuals and baronets. It is not a part of a person's name. A British wikipedian actually corrected one of my edits on this. Most, if not all, prominent pages describing individuals awarded knighthoods, damehoods, etc., adhere to this. ~ Iamthecheese44 (talk) 03:43, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Iamthecheese44 I am not convinced that this is the Wikipedia standard, see e.g. articles like John Key, John Major, Isaac Newton, Paul McCartney, Don Bradman. Another experienced user reverted one of your edits too [1]. You should seek further clarification before making further changes, the fact that you are having to make so many changes is to me evidence that the existing standard is the opposite of what you suggest.

A page you started (Laurie Fitzhardinge) has been reviewed!

Request reason:

I am requesting for this account to be unblocked so I can resume editing on articles. I acknowledge that it was wrong of me to edit from multiple accounts, and I can see why administrators assumed that I was doing so for bad reasons and chose to block me. I believe that as I did not actually use my multiple accounts for fraudulent / abusive purposes I should be given a second chance. In future I will edit only using this account and I am happy to submit to any checks required to monitor this promise. The areas I would like to work on are Australian history articles, such as completing Draft:Religious Affiliations of Prime Ministers of Australia and creating new articles. I would also like to state that I was not engaging in "paid editing" as one administrator suggested, however, just to be certain in future I will make sure to state if I have any sort of conflict of interest, if it is only perceived. Decline reason:

You are not eligible for unblock consideration here. Your request must be made on the original account, Marvello123 (talk · contribs). Additionally, you will have to address your undisclosed paid editing. Yamla (talk) 13:14, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
