NCAA Men's Basketball Yearly Team Articles

I want to drop you a line to let you know that the standard for the NCAA men's basketball yearly team articles, such as 2011–12 Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs men's basketball team, is two categories. The first category is the conference's season category, such as Category:2011–12 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball season The second category is the team's seasons category, such as Category:Florida Gators men's basketball seasons. November 2011

Hello Gwickwire. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Levi Walter Mengel, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10 - 15 minutes for more content to be added, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.→Στc. 02:30, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Whatever your views on the description of the link, there is absolutely no reason delete the link itself. Judge Adams is a notable person by the name of William Adams, and therefore should be listed in the list of pages of people by that name. A considerable number of the deletion tags you have placed have been modified or removed by several administrators an d other editors. I urge you to read WP:Deletion Policy and WP:CSD before doing further patrolling. Please note in particular the alternatives to deletion, such as merging and redirecting, and also that the requirement for passing csd A7 is not actual notability but the much weaker criterion of any indicated significance or importance, And, as my colleague Kudpung mentions, you have also been missing a number of severe problems. Some of your tagging is excessive: it is usually not helpful to indicate every single possible overlapping problem, when some of the problems are particularly severe--it distracts people from the essentials. Patrolling requires accuracy and experience. Much of what you are doing is very good --but perhaps it would be better to try to get some more practice in improving unsatisfactory articles, such as by adding sources . You would be doing very valuable work here, if you took things more carefully. DGG ( talk ) 03:04, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
