Hong Kong

HI thanks for noticing that. I thought it was Kowloon too but I was reading th note on the photograph which suggested otherwise. I've drawn up some templates to organize the major roads in Hong Kong Island, I will be doing Kowloon soon. Of course I'm also the one drawing up the Hong Kong films see Hong Kong films of 1972 etc. In a few months they should be complete and then the articles can all by started -several thousands films and actors missing I believe. Feel free to help build the lists! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:21, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

USA addresses

"I'm sure there are other ARTCCs that are outside of city limits. I'd say just list the postal address' city. "

I highly disagree with going by postal addresses. I use the actual municipality (or if none, county or (in New York State) "town") that the ACC is located in. There are some ACCs that are not in any city, like Miami's. The funny thing is that the Fort Worth ACC IS in Fort Worth (and not Euless as the previous guy said it was) - Look the address on Yahoo maps and you will find that Fort Worth's city limits extends to the eastern limit of Tarrant County. Also, I do not believe that addresses need ot be listed on the ACC page - Just list the city (or county) and state.

As for the one in Auburn I checked the address and found that the center is within an Indian Reservation. I'm not sure if the Res is considered to be in the city limits of Auburn. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:12, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

On the ARTCC page I really do not mind if the Zip codes go. - All we need to list is the city, not the address. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

1. Thank you for pointing out the term :) 2. Hmm, I wonder if I could meld the concepts together by using Unincorporated X County (Y address) - In Texas incorporated cities CAN cross county boundaries, and the same is true with Florida (albiet this is rare). With unincorporated postal boundaries I will have to see if this is the case in Florida. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

By the way, if you are allowed to, do you mind if you take a photo of the front entrance of the Los Angeles Air Traffic Control building and post it on Wikipedia? I know Houston's ATC center has a photo on its website. I will probably upload that on to Wikipedia as it is a federal US Gov't picture. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I guess the creator of Yahoo and Google Maps did not understand that distinction. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:08, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

RE: VCE-PHL

Then you need better sources as per US Airways' route map still show that VCE is still served from Philadelphia but only during the summer. The US Airways, Philadelphia International Airport articles still show Venice listed as a destination for them. And I went through their schedules and I have found one nonstop VCE-PHL flight during April. VCE is still a US Airways' destination. Bucs2004 (talk) 03:23, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

RE:VCE-ATL

I went to Delta's schedules and did not find any VCE-ATL flights for April or May. PLease note that I wasn't the one that who continuously added Atlanta as a seasonal DL destination to Venice Marco Polo Airport. I think it was the same user (S Marky 90) who kept adding it. Cheers! Audude08 (talk) 21:42, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey HkCaGu! I think Delta does fly VCE-ATL seasonal and the DL ATL-VCE flight begins on May 29 and VCE to ATL begins on May 30 per their schedules on delta.com. I have readded it to the respective pages with the start dates. Cheers! Audude08 (talk) 05:00, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Examples? —Kurykh 04:41, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

I would recommend referring the matter to Wikipedia:WikiProject China. When individuals with little or no knowledge of overseas Chinese culture begin blanking without consensus, it's best to gently introduce them to the cultural background they may be lacking, via editors with expertise in this subject. The multilingual nature of Wikipedia, especially as regards overseas Chinese, is a very significant part of the usefulness of these articles for researchers, as you know. Badagnani (talk) 04:47, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

There is also Wikipedia:Manual of Style (use of Chinese language) WhisperToMe (talk) 09:29, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Stop cluttering my page with false accusations

There is absolutely no WP:Censorship involved here.

Furthermore, I don't find it particularly offensive. There's just no reason for it to be there in most cases. Gene Nygaard (talk) 18:30, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Northern Marianas College

HkCaGu, Thanks for correcting my erroneous edits on the Tinian and Rota pages. I found the language on the main NMC article regarding the status of these two colleges to be somewhat confusing, and I had interpreted it to mean that they were temporarily closed or something. Anyway, I clarified the language on that page and again, I appreciate your corrections. Clearly you are a very well-traveled and knowledgeable person. 71.127.204.44 (talk) 00:08, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

NWA direct flights problem for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

Hey HkCaGu! I am having a little bit of a direct flight issue on the Sea-Tac Airport page that i think you can help me out. Many IPs keep removing Mumbai and Seoul-Incheon from the destination list served by NWA. But doesn't WP:AIRPORTS guidelines say to include direct flights as well as nonstop flights but they say to follow the airport's website guidelines to include nonstop flights only! Can you look into this and see what you can do? Many Thanks! Audude08 (talk) 14:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome!

inappropriate context

Why was adding elevation "inappropriate context"? I can show you THOUSANDS of articles that have elevation in them, look through most every city and town in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, etc,. etc., etc.

I want to know the elevation of cities when I go to an article, as do many readers.

Show me where in the MOS that this is "inappropriate". I have been editing for four years on here, and nobody else has said that this in "inappropriate". I did nothing inappropriate.

Prove it or I'll put it back,

Nonstop vs. Direct

Hey, I'm sorry about that. I didn't know to look under the "Edit war on Portland" section. I did leave some comments on thetalk page, and I'd like you to look at them and weigh in. --Char645 (talk) 03:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Game shows

Please don't add game shows to articles on countries. They really aren't important to the country. If there is a demonstrable effect on tourism, add a paragraph to the "Tourism in xxx" article with statistics to show the benefit.

If you believe such shows are important to tell the world about what the country is like, I suggest you try adding shows such as "America's Next Top Model" to the United States article; I don't think it will last long there, yet this is the exposure that the United States gets to much of the world.-gadfium 19:10, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

At the very least, add an explanation of why it's important e.g. what economic benefits it produces, with links to sources. Otherwise, it's just trivia. Also, please get rid of the large area of white space caused by the images. You also need to create fair use rationales for the images, since there is currently no such rationale covering the Palau article.-gadfium 20:20, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

US Air/America West

Yea, those edits need reviewing. I'm a tad busy tonight since I started to cleanup the Tropicana Entertainment mess. Maybe tomorrow. Vegaswikian (talk) 07:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Yea, if I had time. User:EditWithFacts seems to be a single purpose account with the intent of obfuscating the facts that several editors have worked hard to dig out. Feel free to remove POV issues and cleanup the text. It is acceptable to remove text that would take too much work cleaning up. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Halong is a Bay, but also means "A beautiful bay in Vietnam"

...As per the JMA official name meaning list. Weatherlover819 (talk) 09:55, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, JMA and HKO is different. And as I said on the "Edit history" column, all the other storms' names were used with the list, not the HKO site that you are mentioning. Weatherlover819 (talk) 10:12, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I just want you to know, Neoguri, Rammasun, and Matmo's meanings come from the JMA. If you really want that site to be mentioned, then change the JMA etymologies thingy to the mentioned website (HKO). Weatherlover819 (talk) 10:31, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
You said: Use "not (JMA) and only (JMA)". I'm saying, Wikipedia uses the "JMA", although just a RSMC and not a naming place. Please I want to stop this conversation. The user talk shouldn't be too long like Titoxd's talk page. Weatherlover819 (talk) 10:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

PVG

The information I added was not incorrect - Shanghai Airlines and Air China offer flights to SFO through a codeshare agreement with United. The codeshare flights can be found on the airport website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.57.91 (talk) 07:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Linking

Sorry to have set off any spammy alarms, our site doesn't sell anything. I actually only posted relevant links about the subjects, to specific articles with non-commercial relevant content, and not just to my homepage. Obvously don't give a hoot about PR. Someone just suggested to me that we have a lot of stuff that would be of interest to wikireaders, so I added a handful of links, thank you for your effort. Re: Anonymous editor disputing Chinese-ness of southern Chinese

I am open to alternative point of views and don't hold on very tightly to traditional ideas of ethnicity myself. Nonetheless, if its going to be on Wikipedia, it better be verifiable. None of that "very difficult to find and generally not found on the internet reference" routine please. Thanks for the heads up. - Bob K 18:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

I could not use the additional text feature on the template, and I have retracted it. Sorry.--Ainlina--Speak to me--Ask a question--Praise and criticism 07:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edit in which I corrected the Chinese characters for "Hong Kong"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.81.64.62 (talk) 04:31, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
