[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Melbguy05 (talk) 03:47, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted unsourced information, if you want to add information to a page then you should ensure that it is accurate (sourced). Iago4102 (talk) 03:53, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You removed the sourced paragraph in the introduction I added on the MSPF, MEU(SOC) and the MRF. Melbguy05 (talk) 04:43, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
that’s right, I apologise. I only meant to revert the “special operations unit” status. Iago4102 (talk) 04:57, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to post the same EW warning. I have added a 'welcome' template above, it contains a good deal of info for new users and I strongly encourage you to read through all of it and it's links. You should slow down and learn your way around before getting involved in any conflicts. The USMCFR page has been set back to quo. No further changes should be made by any editors involved in this dispute until there is a resolution on the article talk page. - wolf 06:28, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The recent USMCFR edit changing their description to “special operations unit” is not sourced and inaccurate as they are not part of SOCOM, that is why I reverted it The editor also did not get consensus in the talk page to make that edit. Iago4102 (talk) 11:55, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And thank you for the welcome template. Iago4102 (talk) 11:56, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. - wolf 04:57, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Any further attacks on other editors, or general battleground type behaviour, and you will be likely be reported and just as likely blocked from editing. I have once aleady suggested to you that you slow down and learn your way around. That includes learning the 5 Pillars, (esp. #4). That also includes going into discussions with a colaborative attitude and cooperating with other editors, not domimating the discussion thread with numerous posts, trying to push your personal preference. That'a not how it works. I would suggest you aplogize to Dormskirk, then take a step back and read through the template I provided above, carefully and thoroughly. It's to your benefit as much as anyone else's. - wolf 05:09, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

CS1 error on Royal Marines

[edit]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Royal Marines, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 13:44, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Editing while logged out

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Please be mindful not to perform controversial edits while logged out, or your account risks being blocked from editing. Please consider reading up on Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts before editing further. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. - wolf 04:20, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi, this is not a socket puppet account, this is my only Wikipedia account, I just made a few edits without realising that I wasn’t signed in by mistake.

Decline reason:

I don't believe for one second that you are unrelated to IagoHughes. Yamla (talk) 14:52, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
