Rolia Whitinger
[edit]Re. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Rolia Whitinger
I extensively re-formatted the article; sadly, you'd left the live chat before I had the chance to explain that.
I suggest you continue to work on it.
I requires better referencing.
How references work |
---|
Simple references[edit]These require two parts;
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
== References == {{reflist}} (an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections) To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:JRW78130/reftest and try it out. Named references[edit]Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook"> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/> Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result. Citation templates[edit]You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look; Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation | last = Smith | first = John | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century | publication-date = 2001 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]] | page = 125 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4 }} </ref> Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result. For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs. |

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Rolia Whitinger has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/pages/In-Loving-Memory-of-Rolia-Harvey-Whitinger/269237318010?ref=search.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 01:08, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
The inclusion of the following "See also" links do not appear at first glance to be within Wikipedia guidelines for a "See also" section. I would be interested in your reasons for including links to:
- Alistair Cooke, Body farm, CryoLife, Biomedical Tissue Services
The "See also" link to the Bryan Lykins story is misplaced, it belongs in the "External Links" so that particular link was removed from "see also". Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 18:32, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
Re: References & sourcing:
- References #4 & #5: Personal/family archives (diaries, letters, personal interviews) that are unpublished are not considered reliable sources since using such content would constitute original research. From the "No original research" guideline-page:
- "you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material as presented."
- Reference #2 is an unsourced theory and does not support the assertion.
- Reference #3 does not prove the statement of "swearing an oath of allegiance".
In general, it is my opinion that the geneaogical/family-history section should be extensively-trimmed but I would be interested in hearing why you think the above information should be included in this particular Wikipedia article. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 18:46, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
