License tagging for Image:Britney spears new vid.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Britney spears new vid.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Hanna beth
[edit]Hanna beth, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Hanna beth satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hanna beth and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Meah
[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Meah, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. • nancy • 16:10, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to ignore our policies by introducing inappropriate pages, such as Meah, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. • nancy • 16:14, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Copyright violation in Image:Integrity.jpg
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Integrity.jpg, by Kurt Shaped Box (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Integrity.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Integrity.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Britney-allure.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Britney-allure.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kurt Shaped Box 13:12, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gimmemoresample.ogg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Gimmemoresample.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Britney Spears's fifth studio album/Blackout
[edit]Please do not begin adding "Blackout" to various pages until there is a reliable source stating that this is the album title. Image source problem with Image:Gimmemorepromo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Gimmemorepromo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:22, 4 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BritandBeyonce (talk•contribs) 02:22, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Dec2007ashlee.jpg

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image tagging for Image:2hearts.jpg

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Re:Reverting vandals
[edit]Adding airplay charts to the article is not vandalism. According to the Music charts guidelines of the Manual of Style, airplay charts can be added to the charts table (They are used in examples of chart tables in the link). Of course I can talk to him about deleting the sourced content as he was deleting the entire chart table at one point. Deleting sourced content without a reason is vandalism, adding airplay charts aren't. He hasn't edited since I sent him the same message I sent you as both parties were breaking the 3RR rule. If he deletes the sourced content again, I will speak to him as what he's doing is deleting a vital part of the article which doesn't come across as very constructive behaviour. - The reason that the UK Albums Chart info was removed was because the source provided did not match. Your edit summary is also rude. One does not have to be from the UK to see that the source is incorrect. If you are aware of what time the website gets updated with the latest chart, why did you place unsourced information back into the article before that time? Perhaps it is you who should be patient? - eo 18:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pieceofme.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pieceofme.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 14:52, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Londonimage.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Londonimage.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Image copyright problem with Image:Londonimage.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Londonimage.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 04:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Mobylastnight.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mobylastnight.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Image copyright problem with Image:Portisheadtherip.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Portisheadtherip.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of Image:Britney 2008circus.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Britney 2008circus.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Britney 2008circus.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Realist2 15:31, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi
[edit]Hi Jak3m! I was wondering if we could talke a little. I have a little concern regarding your image uploads. It's that most of the images you upload, you choose to put them under a free license when they aren't your own work. Now that's a big concern for Wikipedia. More info can be found at Wikipedia:Copyrights. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Best regards, --Kanonkas : Talk 02:54, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

If you are interested in keeping this image and its two derivatives on wiki, please respond to the entry at WP:Possibly_unfree_images/2009_January_19#File:Olsen_twins.jpg. You assert that you have taken the pictures yourself. You have at least one picture where it is proven that you were not truthful about the copyright status so your assertion of ownership of other pictures is suspect. If you really did take this pictures suggest you upload the image .JPG as taken from your camera along with the camera EXIF data with no modifications. Then make the derivatives from that image. --NrDg 17:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Additionally I noticed that in the edit summaries you said that you took the picture at a Barnes and Noble store in Los Angeles [1] [2] and on the image description pages you said that you took the picture in a Barnes and Noble store in New York City [3] [4]. --NrDg 17:50, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Final warning
[edit]We appreciate your work on Wikipedia and the time you spent improving articles. However, your disregard for copyright infringement issues is unacceptable. After being warned many times not to upload images to which you do not own the copyright, you have recently taken the practice of claiming copyright ownership to images which are clearly not your own. Previous attempts to communicate with you have failed. Therefore, we must demand that you immediately:
- stop uploading non-free images; and
- update the copyright status for those images you claimed as your own, and either provide evidence for your claim, a link to the source where the real owner is listed, or ask an admin to remove the image.
If you do not comply, we will be forced to block you from editing on Wikipedia. Thank you. Owen× ☎ 20:09, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
