Reliable source for Castle episodes

[edit]

I've reverted your addition of the first four episodes of Castle again. SpoilerTV, a fan-run blog, is not a reliable source for these titles, much less broadcast order, dates or any episode content. They purchase casting sides from one of several casting websites, and use those as source for their episode titles. The problem with that is that production order doesn't equate with broadcast order, episode titles change during and after production, and sides often have erroneous titles. Please wait until you can find this information on ABC's or another reliable website such as Futon Critic or MSN, then revert your table and add the reliable source for your information. You've made the same mistake on the List of Persons Unknown episodes page. Reliable sources (see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources ) generally involves a published source with an editorial process; someone who researches and verifies the information befor it goes to print or post. SpoilerTV's problems are inherent in the name; they traffic in gossip, and for my experience, while they do pretty well on getting the titles right, they have been notorious about getting the actual order of them completely wrong. And with IMdB (your Persons Unknown source), and for that matter TV.com, they are, much like Wikipedia, reader contributed. Anyone can suggest a contribution. I personally fought with IMdB about some of the broadcast dates for Human Target (past the date they actually aired, by the way), and TV.com was under the impression that the first episode of Rescue Me's sixth season was called "Life" because some blog posted it after viewing a promtional video on Hulu promoting the entire season called "Life" (the actual episode title? "Legacy".) Aside from the Identifying reliable sources page, you might also, as I did starting out, just sample some of the sources currently being used on the pages you will frequent to get an idea of what is and isn't acceptable. But IMdB isn't. KnownAlias contact 14:28, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You've been hit with the same problem again. The IMDB and TV.com are both fan-submitted, and draw a fair bit of their content from blogs, minor website, casting sides, and SpoilerTV. You might want to read up on reliable sources or check with an experienced editor before you put in the work involved in creating these table entries, only to have them reverted yet again.
