Diablo III typo

[edit]

Thanks for correcting that typo. I ended up deleting the entire thing altogether though, the link the person added there was already originally linked to. The person who added it just couldn't see it since someone had gone and basically deleted the entire article. I've fixed that, so since you probably didn't get a chance to see it: User:Tyciol/Diablo III Tyciol (talk) 04:39, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re Geraint

[edit]

Hey mate,

Was in Geraint's class in 1st year; he's mad eh! Wish he taught more undergrads! (Came across his page cos I was at his lecture on ftl). I replied on the talk page for the image about fair use etc.122.106.160.244 (talk) 11:17, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,

Have many fond memories of Geraint's lectures back in first year (for me that's a while back!). Great fun. Of course I had to go to his lecture on warp drives last week as well when I heard it was on as well. If only all lecturers were as good as him...he's one of those lecturers who can actually teach you the course.122.106.160.244 (talk) 11:50, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

Hi. Can I point you to Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. The first few paragraphs are particularly relevant -- you'll need to confirm that the image has been released under the GFDL or a compatible free licence. We'll need an email from the copyright-holder to confirm the release. I'm trying to find someone who is more familiar with the system so they can explain it to you better than I can. Hi again. I've been pointed to commons:Commons:Email templates, which contains a template email for the image's copyright-holder to send in order to confirm the permission. Note that you'll need to send the permission for the version of the image that is on Wikimedia Commons: commons:File:Geraint F. Lewis.jpeg. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer. [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy) 12:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. As I said on the image talk page, Wikipedia does not accept "permission-only" images, meaning images where the author gives permission for it to be used on Wikipedia, but nowhere else. This is because Wikipedia is a "free encyclopedia", allowing anyone to reuse any Wikipedia content. If the author (photographer) allows anyone to use it, then it should be tagged {{attribution}} or {{PD-release}}. But if the photographer only allows Wikipedia to use it, then Wikipedia chooses not to accept it, even though it would be legal to do so.

If you want to see if the image can be used freely by anyone, simply ask the copyright holder if it's okay for anyone to use it. If they say yes, let me know, and I'll help you fix it. – Quadell (talk) 12:56, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:09, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
