This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of West rowan middle school, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.rss.k12.nc.us/index.php/Schools/School_WRMS_teacher/345.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on West rowan middle school requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ... discospinster talk 03:03, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on West rowan middle school requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —Darkwind (talk) 06:12, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at West rowan middle school

[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with West rowan middle school. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 06:16, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at West rowan middle school, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 06:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About WRMS content

[edit]

I just deleted several paragraphs from the West Rowan Middle School article that are WP:COPYVIO infringements. Just changing one word in a sentence doesn't make it OK. Several sentences were left intact from the external links provided. This is not acceptable for Wikipedia. It would need to be reworded a lot. One note about the article is that you started it up without any real content and then started test edits and went through the hassle of having to defend your article from deletion a lot it appears from the messages above and the article edit history. In order to avoid that (and get the article up to Wikipedia standards) you may want to use your sandbox for test editing first and then move that to article space or go through the Articles for Creation process in order to get better pointers on what is proper for a Wikipedia article. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 20:06, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia does not normally have articles about primary or middle schools as they are not considered notable. At the end of the day the article will most likely have to be merged into the local settlement article I am afraid. There are plenty of other things to work on for this amazing compendium of human knowledge.--Charles (talk) 22:01, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is true and the article creator may have close connection to school, so it could be a WP:COI issue and opens the article up for puffery/POV editing as well. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 23:36, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Me

[edit]

I do work at the school and I stated this when I first tried making this entry. Our school has a rich history going back to 1880 and I thought Wikipedia would be a great place to gather all of our school's history in one place but I was wrong. Instead of trying to help me out all of you have been on some power trip "in my opinion" to discourage me at every turn. You won. I give up. I will make sure to pass a long the word to everyone to think twice about ever trying to do anything with Wikipedia.Jgpittman3 (talk) 03:21, 11 March 2012 (UTC)jgpittman3[reply]

I apologize for being one of the ones to come down on you too hard. I don't want to turn anyone away from editing on Wikipedia and should have tried to be more helpful and point you in the right direction. Sorry you feel that way about Wikipedia. Some editors here, like me, are just wary of the many promotional/boosterism articles and edits that users will often introduce because they feel their school, church, small business or local political group deserves to have an article. Wikipedia does take copyright violations/plagiarism very seriously, hence the apparent harshness of some of the automated bots and users' deletion of your editing. You are free to edit any article whose subject you do not have a direct relation to. Also, as I stated above, you might get much more help editing in your sandbox first or going through the Article for Creation process. Generally, though, elementary and middle schools aren't kept. Wikipedia has been more lenient on keeping high school and school district articles. You can always make a request for a mentor at WP:Adopt-a-user. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 17:46, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
