A tag has been placed on Bob Burns III (actor / consultant / producer / archivist and historian) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 23:07, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Bob Burns III (actor / consultant / producer / archivist and historian) has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://trughostbusters.proboards.com/index.cgi? (redirect from http://trughostbusters.proboards98.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Bob Burns III (actor / consultant / producer / archivist and historian) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Bob Burns III (actor / consultant / producer / archivist and historian). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article.   — Jeff G. ツ 05:19, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bob Burns III (actor / consultant / producer / archivist and historian) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Help on the Bob Burns Article[edit]

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm sorry your starting point with editing here may seem like an overwhelming bunch of rules and regulations. Wikipedia has a bunch of policies in place that govern what subjects can become articles, as well as policies set up to help make it easier to combat vandalism and hoaxes. However, I took a look at the Bob Burns III article, and I think this article and subject has potential. I've just left a lengthy message on the talk page of the article that should help give you some pointers about what to do next. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here, on the article's talk page, or on my talk page. Happy editing! Qwyrxian (talk) 05:48, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help!!! wikipedia page for Wah Ming Chang[edit]

Hi David,

I want to perform some major revisions on the wikipedia page for Wah Chang. He created many of fantasy's and Science Fiction's greatest props, but received little or no credit for his work. This is my first time writing for wikipedia and I am a little overwhelmed with wikipedia's syntax. I know HTML very well, but this wikipedia syntax takes some getting used to. Can you help guide me? -- John Kim Chi (talk) 20:40, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I don't have time to tutor you in editing Wikipedia pages. I recommend you read some of the basic pages on formatting wiki-text and wiki-links, and experiment in the Sandbox. I also recommend you read the Wikipedia policies on original research, reliable sources, and creating proper footnotes and references (which is best done with proper citation templates). A common first-time editor's mistake is in making additions to an article with uncredited or original material -- these weaken, not improve, an article's quality.

There should be some kind of message at the top of your Talk page that would be automatically added when you created your user.

I would caution you from making "major revisions" to any page, as that flushes the valuable contributions of other editors. There is a policy/guideline about this, too. Please respect the prior work of authors of the page. (Of course, if you find that whole passages of the article are lifted from other sites, that's a copyright violation and needs to be addressed as well.)

If you have specific questions about those policies, you can post to the Talk page of each policy/guideline page, or ask me and perhaps I can point you to the answer. I hope this is of some help. -- David Spalding (  ) 16:11, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
