Regarding Menlo Park SLAC edit

The example I cited was to verifiably prove that the employment table was misleading as presented. It does not include public employers, however no mention of that fact is made either in the article or in the cited source.

I felt that a disclaimer of some sort was entirely relevant and, in fact, needed. Cities with large federal employers (e.g. a national laboratory like SLAC) are impacted by their presence, so that the table in the article becomes quite misleading without a prominent disclaimer. I provided such a disclaimer via a cited example of a large, public-sector employer that was absent from the list. I could cite additional references, if necessary.

You would, instead, advocate rephrasing the preceding paragraph to indicate that only private employers are reported. However the report, from which the table originates, makes no mention of this fact. It is guesswork on our part that only private employers are represented; it is not a verifiable fact! All we know for certain is that list of top employers is incomplete. We clearly do not know (in the sense of citable sources) that the source meant to list only private employers (note: I skimmed the report!). Consequently, I propose reinstating my edit, which points out that the table is not fully accurate with a verifiable fact, instead of your suggestion of including language based on unverifiable supposition. Removal of non-breaking spaces from my signature

Hey, just a friendly question: is there a reason you replaced the non-breaking space Unicode characters from my sig with regular spaces withthis edit? While they're there to help create a padding (proper CSS made my sig too long), if they're somehow inappropriate characters for a sig, please let me know. Thanks! well it obviously happened, but I didn't do anything to cause it to happen. I added an edit conficted edit back into the top section of the edit conlict window and saved it. That may have done it. in any case sorry that happened. Gtwfan52 (talk) 06:00, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
No worries! Are you using Firefox? It has a very unfortunate bug where it copies-and-pastes non-breaking spaces as regular spaces. Oh well, no harm done! DKqwerty 06:03, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Please Cut Me Some Slack

Well, I was in the middle of citing my sources about my deceased mentor, but, you know, you guys can just keep changing the article back and sending me a stock message. It's only 4 in the morning where I live, and I'm only crying as I try to find sources about a person I knew personally for most of my life and is now dead. But it's cool, you gotta be factual, even when you're grieving a loved one. I'll cite it. I am not "vandalzing". It's late. I worked two jobs today.
