A tag has been placed on EDP / Nova Era Beach Party requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Thank you. –CaroleHenson (talk) 19:01, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is also disruptive to remove citations. Even though a couple of the sources are primary sources, they are better than nothing. There were also two good sources. The removal of sources is very confusing.
There is no need for all the individual tables and sections.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:05, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at EDP Beach Party.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. –CaroleHenson (talk) 19:34, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You're not listening and I'd rather not have someone else blocked today.
Let's try it this way.
  • You're making edits that are replacing formatted citations with bare links (see this version. See WP:Bare URLs.
  • You are reintroducing duplicate links, when just the first instance of a link to an article should be used. See WP:OVERLINKING.
  • You are reintroducing links to WP:Disambiguation pages - rather than linking to the person you think you're linking to. Look at Bob Sinclair. There's no article for the Bob Sinclair you've added.
  • Creating a longer than necessary page. In general, content should be in WP:Prose and summarized, rather than giving all the details. It's not necessary, for instance to show each of the days that the event occurred on.
  • You haven't added sources for a lot of the content, which relies too heavily on primary sources. What is needed is newspaper articles and other secondary sources with editorial control. See WP:RS, WP:Secondary sources, and WP:INDEPENDENT.
The more I write this, the more I think that there should just be a summary that it's an annual event and give a short list of the most notable people. This is not a website page for the event or a repository for the history of its events. See WP:What Wikipedia is not. It should be an encyclopedia article with secondary sources, like newspapers - as the article is tagged.
I know you don't realize it, but you are making disruptive edits that are causing problems.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:07, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed

[edit]
  • I removed all the uncited content - so that meant I could remove the refimprove tag that said more references were needed. Since there were no references added so far, it didn't seem likely they would be going forward.
  • I added another newspaper, to balance off the use of primary sources (the radio station)
  • I added the link to the radio website as an external link - that's where readers should go to get details.

Now, the article is in much better shape.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
