File permission problem with File:KMBC Brengle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:KMBC Brengle.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:53, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong user at WP:AN3[edit]

I noticed you added a report at WP:AN3. Sorry for my bold action, but I have removed it because I'm pretty sure you did not mean to report that user. Your report is at this permalink. It reports Paul Barlow (talk · contribs) in the heading, but Paull Barlow (talk · contribs) in the body (the latter has two "L"s in "Paull"). Your report duplicates the immediately prior report. FYI I earlier asked an admin to handle the situation (see here, although another admin has blocked them now). Johnuniq (talk) 01:52, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So, I looked at it again. I logically assumed that a name like "Paull" would simply be a cute sockpuppet for "Paul"... but it does, in fact, seem that the two are kind of on opposing sides, making sockpuppetry seem kind of counterproductive.
Thanks for the heads-up. Jsharpminor (talk) 07:31, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Logically"? That's a funny kind of "logic". If I wanted to use a sockpuppet to edit war I would hardly choose one that pointed directly to me as master of it would I? That would somewhat defeat the whole object. This user has a history of creating socks parodying the names of people he opposes, including Johnuniq himself (User:JohnNotunique). See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HenryVIIIyes/Archive. Paul B (talk) 13:13, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't know who you are. A smart person wouldn't do such a thing; however, someone just trying to not directly link back to themselves might. You're obviously not the person involved; sorry that I included your name. Jsharpminor (talk) 16:53, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Belle (Disney)[edit]

Thanks! I was in the middle of reporting. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:29, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

3RR[edit]

Thanks for your comments, which I accept in good faith. I do understand 3RR. In this particular case, I think you should take a look at the anon editor's previous edit warring, which I linked in a 3RR report I made (I realize that does not justify anything I did, but I do think it's significant regarding the overall behavior of that editor). We'll see what an admin does. Thanks again for your comments. Cresix (talk) 17:37, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how else to say this, so here goes: If you understand 3RR, then why did you revert the article 3 times? I understand that bad, unsourced, or irrelevant material can't be allowed to stay on Wikipedia, and I don't think that his edits were particularly constructive. But they weren't 1) blatant vandalism, and 2) the article isn't about a living person, so there's no libel issues... so edit-warring just isn't the proper way to handle it. Revert it once. Then take it to the talk page. Be warned, editors have been blocked for edit warring even for two reverts. Jsharpminor (talk) 17:42, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again for you comments. Please look at the article's talk page. It was taken to the talk page weeks ago, with no consensus for the anon's edits. I just re-opened the discussion at the talk page. So we'll see if anything comes from it. Best! Cresix (talk) 17:46, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Proposed Article Deletion[edit]

Unsure as to why the article was considered deletion again considering that the previous attempt to delete was concerning the same issue, however, the wikipedia team assisted me in updating the article. Anyhow, please feel free to review the article and let me know what I can do to improve it Hansomd 00:39, 18 August 2012 (UTC) hansomd.

My two cents: The article reads very much like a resume.Gloryshookthiswater (talk) 06:23, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to get the article on Jazzy Jordan either merged or deleted outright. See my comments on the talk page. The guy isn't notable. I forget how I found the article a year ago; but I got into an argument with his publicist and gave it up. I went back to it about a year later (almost to the day) and tried to AfD it again, but got vetoed by the publicist. (If not a publicist, at very least a WP:SPA.) How can I get this done? Deleted / merged; in any case, it needs to be done.

Sinattipop123[edit]

Hey Jsharpminor- I appreciate all of your feedback on my article for submission. I must admit this is my first try at a Wiki article so it looks like I am a way off from doing it correctly. Sinatti Pop is a local musician in my area that I feel deserves an article because there are so few artists from Pottstown that have made any name for themselves. I would be thankful for any other helpful information you could provide in allowing me to illustrate that he is truly notable. Thanks in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinattipop123 (talkcontribs) 01:46, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's about all the info I have to give. Whether or not he in fact is truly notable, is something that we'll have to decide later. Honestly, though, I'd have to say that it doesn't look that way. Not that I'm against Pennsylvania (I took Rt 100 right through Pottstown on my way to Allentown, Reading, and Delaware). But it's true notability per WP:ARTIST that will rule the day. Cheers! Jsharpminor (talk)

Thanks! I totally understand and I don't take any of your feedback personally at all. I appreciate the input since, like I said before, I am totally new at this. It's just that I did do some research on other local artists who warranted Wiki pages and also looked through the guidelines for musicians and felt confident that Sinatti Pop warranted an article based on what I saw. Mainly per the Wikipedia:Notability (music) page that lists the Criteria for musician and ensembles. I believe that with the references listed Sinatti Pop does meet the first criteria. Any feedback on why you don't feel that is the case would be much appreciated! (Though I do realize some of that may be helped by working on cleaning up my current references.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinattipop123 (talkcontribs) 17:31, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

flambeau de afd comment, or drat the tremors[edit]

Thanks probably a thumb-touchpad mishap. Now I gotta check if any of my other sentences are missing a word somewhere. Dlohcierekim 19:41, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it happens to everyone. I did glance through your other edits on the page; none appeared to be missing the phrase "de-sysoped". :-) Jsharpminor (talk) 20:03, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Was wondering why the article was deleted. To my understanding, I did read your response briefly but was unable to respond quickly due to be being out of town... however I do recall, if I'm correct, you stating that we would work on the article together... can you connect with me to let me know what that I can do to have it relisted? Hansomd: I don't have the power to delete and restore articles. The article was deleted by The Bushranger. You might ask him why it was deleted.
