Hello Rich Farmbrough, thanks for the welcome and the links. I'm still slowly learning my way around here, and I hope I'm doing this response right. Does the bracketed link to your username in my first sentence notify you that I've responded to your post on my page? In case it doesn't, I added the -help me- tag so someone can correct me on that. Your list of links is helpful, especially the Wikipedia Adventure with its built-in hands-on activities. But looking around, I see a lot of other help guides, often two or more on the same topic. Is there a help guide to the help guides, or do I need to just keep wandering around and figure out my own map of this universe?
Also, how should I go about asking for an editorial review of my edits? I worked on a page in my sandbox which had a link to notify editors to look it over, but I went ahead and posted some things and I don't see a similar link on the real pages (for Powder Ridge Ski Area and Nicholas Hobbs), am I missing something or is there another way for a newbie to make sure I'm doing things right? Hi KennyHBrown, if you want to link to a user you need to use either [[User:Rich Farmbrough]] (which I corrected above) or {{u|Rich Farmbrough}}. Both will notify the user that they have been linked to. Unfortunately, Wikipedia isn't meta enough to have a help guide to the help guides. I've heard the Wikipedia Adventure is really good, and WP:TUTORIAL is good too.
As for live edits on articles - if you've done something improper, other editors might leave you a note saying they've changed/edited what you've added (some are nicer than others, don't take it personally). If you do not receive any feedback on a post, it means no one has a reason to complain! If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, the IRC channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 18:57, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
