[edit]Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Pijush Hazarika, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:21, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
He is our local MLA and I know him personally. Khanjanneog (talk) 16:44, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
- Personal knowledge does not count. All facts need to be supported by published citations. David notMD (talk) 17:45, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
Google about him then you will know its already present. Khanjanneog (talk) 17:47, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
- Google can be used to find content that can be added to an article, but unless the information is added to Wikipedia as a reference, does not count. Basically, do not add content unless you add a reference at the same time. David notMD (talk) 17:51, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
How is the reference added please teach me as I am new here. Khanjanneog (talk) 17:52, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
- Help:Referencing for beginners is a good guide. Briefly, you insert the reference content in the text of an article (after punctuation), and the referencing program automatically numbers it and adds it to the reference list at the end. David notMD (talk) 20:01, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
- Go to the article Pijush Hazarika. After you click on Edit on the top menu, you will see the text of the article with the references in place. Model your intent to add a reference on those. Each ref is between ref and /ref (and those are inside < >). Personally, I find that working to create a ref in my Sandbox, and then copying that into the article only when I get it right, is better than trying to create the reference in the article. Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ajey Nagar, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Aguy777 (talk) 07:34, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Bhuvan Bam, you may be blocked from editing. Aguy777 (talk) 08:25, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia. Aguy777 (talk) 08:31, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
