File permission problem with File:A mugshot of Fred West from 1994.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:A mugshot of Fred West from 1994.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 17:27, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hi Larrywyse,

I reverted your latest contribution to Joe Dolan because a reference should follow a statement. If you intended the reference to follow the previous statement, please place the reference immediately after the fullstop, with no space in between. I have also noticed some edit warring between you and SonofSetanta, please stop and talk to each other. i believe both are trying to contribute, be better if you are both moving in the same direction. All the best. Kinkreet~♥moshi moshi♥~ 15:26, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Madness

[edit]

Please stop adding comparisons and your opinions about Madness's success compared to that of The Specials. Your thoughts on which band was best is not relevant and neither is the comparison. Your thoughts on which song is also Madness's "most famous" are also not cited to a reliable source. Your personal opinion on this is of no interest to Wikipedia. Please stop adding it. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 20:58, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Larry

[edit]

I wonder if it would be a good idea if you and I had a bit of a chat? I can see you're trying to contribute sensibly but you maybe need a little help on some of the Wikipedia guidelines. I've dropped my opposition to your changes on Joe Dolan's funeral because, having checked the facts again, I can see you were correct. My apologies for not checking sooner. There's a direct link on my homepage to e-mail me but you can also just have a chat here. Just edit the page as you do with an article and I'll be notified of your reply. I'm not on your case mate, I'm just being a good neighbour and as I've been contributing on Wikipedia for a little longer than you I've picked up some of the do's and don'ts which might really help you get more out of this place. Don't be a stranger. SonofSetanta (talk) 15:59, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help Needed for this user

[edit]
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, place a new {{help me}} request on this page followed by your questions, contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse.

Can someone with the authority to e-mail members with no contact details shown please review the above page and contact the user Larrywyse. I do not think he is aware of the talk page facility. SonofSetanta (talk) 13:43, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, this account does not have email enabled. Only a checkuser could find any details, I do not think they would think this an adequate reason to use the CU tools, and in any case all that would tell is the IP address, which may not be static. If he does not read his talk page, I'm afraid there is no way to get his attention but a short block. JohnCD (talk) 13:58, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Madness (band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Our House (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Larrywyse. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Aching, Breaking Heart (Joe Dolan song)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Aching, Breaking Heart (Joe Dolan song)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. —Anne Delong (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
