Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Mall of the Emirates Station does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! I have also removed the speedy deletion tag. To find out why, see the article's edit history. Cloudz679 19:47, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello Liam987. You tagged "TeleToon Retro (band)" for speedy deletion, but you did not notify the article's creator that it had been so tagged. There is strong consensus that the creators of articles tagged for speedy deletion should be warned and that the person placing the tag has that responsibility. All of the major speedy deletion templates contain a pre-formatted warning for this purpose—just copy and paste to the creator's talk page. Thank you. DoriTalkContribs 10:08, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

I think two paragraphs is a bit short for breaking down into sections! I have,as originally inteneded, begun to do just that, and will extend them as the article is developed from a stub. cheers Geopersona (talk) 08:46, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

OK. sounds fine. Liam987 (talk) 17:50, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tag on Sandy Ritvin

You tagged this page for deletion within two minutes of its creation and you have not notified the page creator. Don't bite the newcomers: cleanup tagging within minutes of creation can discourage new users. Consider using WP:Twinkle to welcome newcomers on their talk page if a first effort needs deleting. Articles should not be tagged for speedy deletion as having no context (CSD A1) or no content (CSD A3) moments after creation, as not all users will have added full content in their first revision;Vrenator talk 16:57, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I notified the creator Liam987 (talk) 16:59, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Yes I've seen that you have done that now but please don't be so quick to tag the pages. Vrenator talk 17:00, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
okLiam987 (talk) 17:01, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

inappropriate tags

As i pointed out at Dawes Hicks:

  1. The article is fully referenced. So why do you think it needs extra sources? It list four sources; Mind, Nature, Who's Who and the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. How are these insufficient?
  2. There is nothing in the article that is in any way shape or form derogatory against the subject
  3. The subject died in 1941, that's 60 years ago and so he can't be libelled anyway.

If you add such tags to articles can you please explain your reasoning on the talk page. Try to think about such things and you won't get false positives and annoy editors who then have to spend time cleaning up your mess. Barney the barney barney (talk) 18:06, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

sorry, my mistake. didn't realize that it wasn't a living person. My mistake Liam987 (talk) 18:08, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi! I would like to inform you that the Articles for Creation submission which was previously located here: User:Liam987/FGC line S5 has been moved to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/FGC line S5, this move was made automatically and doesn't affect your article, if you have any questions please ask on my talk page! Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited FGC line S55, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barcelona province (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Help requests

I recently submitted an article to the 'articles for submission' page. I now realize that I did not need to do this and could have simply submitted it the normal way. Do to the backlog at the 'articles for submission' page, I would like to move my page from there and submit it as a regular page, but I'm not sure how to do this. I would be grateful if someone could help me with this. Thanks. Liam987(talk)contributions 11:37, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

I created the article using the Article Wizard. Liam987(talk)contributions 11:38, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
It looks like User:Hallows AG has taken care of this for you. Keep up the good work! DoriTalkContribs 02:02, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

I was recently working on the article "Human development (humanity)", and I discovered that some of the content was directly copied from a copyright-protected source. I of course deleted the material, but I am worried that much of the other content in the article is taken directly from it's sources. I would be grateful if someone could advise me what to do about this or at least look at the article. Thanks,

Liam987 19:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

The best course of action would probably be to list the article at our copyright problems noticeboard. Editors knowledgeable in spotting and dealing with copyright violations routinely patrol that page. --Chris (talk) 21:48, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Liam987 12:25, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
I looked at this noticeboard and am unsure how to add the article to the list. Also, I do not wish to have the page blanked because I am not sure that there are additional violations. Liam987 12:38, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Maybe also tag the article with {{cv-unsure}} or {{copypaste}} or a similar template. For further instructions see WP:CPI.benzband (talk) 12:52, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks you Liam987 12:57, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
How about doing this (copied from Wikipedia:Copyright problems#Suspected or complicated infringement :
Click on [show]

Suspected or complicated infringement

If infringement is not blatant or the speedy deletion criteria do not apply:

  • Remove the infringing text or revert the page to a non-copyrighted version if you can.
The infringing text will remain in the page history for archival reasons unless the copyright holder asks the Wikimedia Foundation to remove it (unless it is tagged for {{copyvio-revdel}}. Please note the reason for removal in the edit summary and at the article's talk page (you may wish to use {{subst:cclean}}). When possible, please identify and alert the contributor of the material to the problem. The template {{Uw-copyright}} may be used for this purpose.
  • However, if all revisions have copyright problems, the removal of the copyright problem is contested, or reversion/removal is otherwise complicated:
  • Replace the text with one of the following:

    {{subst:copyvio|url=insert URL here}}

    {{subst:copyvio|identify non-web source here}}

  • Go to today's section and add

    * {{subst:article-cv|PageName}} from [insert URL or identify non-web source here] ~~~~

to the bottom of the list. Put the page's name in place of "PageName". If you do not have a URL, enter a description of the source. (This text can be copied from the top of the template after substituting it and the page name and url will be filled for you)
  • Advise the contributor of the material at their talk page. The template on the now blanked page supplies a notice you may use for that purpose.
Sorry if i wasn't clear about this in the previous post. :) -- benzband (talk) 13:30, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Is this the copyright infringement? benzband (talk) 14:36, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
I really don't no if there is even more infringements or when they occurred. All I know is that I found a sentence directly taken from the UN's website, and that much of the other material looked suspiciously like it was copied from it's sources. Liam987 14:40, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
I see. I tried putting that diff through Google but it crashed the search engine :D Taking the first paragraph shows up this. Cheers, benzband (talk) 14:54, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
LOL. Well, I would guess that the enotes website just copied it from wikipedia. But it could be the other way around. hmm. Liam987 14:56, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
WOW. all those websites must have copied it from wikipedia, which is kind of pathetic of them, but then again it could have been copied from anyone of those places. There's no way of knowing. Liam987 14:59, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Only Eurada.org and Sidneytranslation.com don't mention having copied from Wikipedia. Maybe one of them two was the source? benzband (talk) 15:22, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
More likely to be EURADA. Plus it does say they own the copyright (1991-2012) on their website. But the source for that paragraph on the wikipedia page is "Streeten, Paul. "Human Development: Means and Ends." Human Development.84.2(May 1994): 232-237." I will look that up now. Liam987 15:30, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Couldn't find anything that book tied that with that paragraph. But still, It's word for word of whats on the EURADA site. Liam987 15:35, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Hmm, it doesn't help that that was Thilinil (talk · contribs)'s only contribution to Wikipedia, and 3 years ago at that. Oh well, maybe just leave the tag and wait to see what happens (WARNING! do not take advice from lazy people like me!) :P benzband (talk) 19:04, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

OK. I'll check up on it in a few weeks and if nobody has done something about it I'll do something about it (maybe). Liam987 16:28, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Whatever. benzband (talk) 16:41, 16 February 2012 (UTC) Please leave a note on my talk page if anything further happens ;)
