Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Lukejekyll. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Exemplo347 (talk) 00:00, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Nick Jekyll

[edit]

Hello Lukejekyll,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nick Jekyll for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about Nick Jekyll

[edit]

Hello, Lukejekyll,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Nick Jekyll should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nick Jekyll .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Mduvekot (talk) 15:02, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Paradise London

[edit]

Hi, I'm Mduvekot. Lukejekyll, thanks for creating Paradise London!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article needs more references to sources that provide substantial coverage from independent, reliable sources. Please avoid press releases, the subject's own website and event announcements.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

The article Paradise London has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable company.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Moved your article to Draft:Fades

[edit]

Hullo. The page you were editing, originally a redirect to another band, did not seem quite ready for publishing. I have moved it to Draft:Fades where you can work on it before it becomes live. If you need help editing or returning it to the encyclopedia when it's done, please reach out. Ifnord (talk) 22:10, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lukejekyll, I hope you're reading these messages. Please do take the time to reply, as Wikipedia is a collaborative project and others may be concerned about you ignoring their concerns.

Specifically, you appear to have a strong conflict of interest regarding all or most of the topics you're editing about. If the conflict of interest guideline, others' repeated complaints and the repeated deletion of pages you create doesn't get the point across, you may need to be blocked from creating further articles, or even editing Wikipedia at all. This has already been requested at WP:AIV, but people are currently being unusually kind towards you.

Do you agree to stop editing and creating articles about topics you have such a close connection to? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:22, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
