RE: Auxiliary connector and Phone connector

[edit]

Hello. If you wish to move a page to a different title, see Help:Moving pages. It's important that the page history be moved along with the page in order to give proper credit to the authors. Also, before moving a page, it's best to establish consensus on the talk page of the article. Go to the article talk page and discuss this matter and move only when consensus is reached. Also, before adding new information, remember to cite a reliable source so we can verify the information is accurate. I will redirect your new page to the old article shortly. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 16:50, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:03, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Auxiliary connector has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

"Auxiliary connector" describes a role, not a specific connector type. An "auxiliary connector" is any connector that is labeled, or attaches to another connector labeled, "auxiliary" or "aux" or similar, regardless of connector type. It is therefore a mistake for this page to redirect to "Phone connector". It would also be a mistake for this page to redirect to any other specific connector type. We do not have pages for other "role-based" descriptions of connectors, e.g. "Input connector" or "Output connector". This page should similarly not exist.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Discussion protocol

[edit]

Per WP:BRD, you are not supposed to re-insert your changes once they have been reverted. Instead, you should go to the article talk page and discuss your changes. Do not insist on your changes, no matter how much you believe yourself to be right, until consensus is reached that supports them. Thank you. Jeh (talk) 19:22, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
