Dear Husband

[edit]

I have reviewed the wikipedia guidelines suggested and I do not see a reason why the page does not meet the criteria. The citations used are from the book which is not a vanity press and I can not think of an external source that would list all the short stories from the book with their publication dates. Can you let me know if there is a specific thing that could cause this page to be deleted? wasmnowf 15:17, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

Please help defend SAFF articles for deletion

[edit]

Hi Masum Ibn Musa, please help me defend the SAFF sub articles which are currently being considered for deletion. Many of these articles contain information that is useful to football in the SAFF region and Bangladeshi football, in my opinion these articles should remain on Wikipedia. You can join the discussion here although of course you should express your opinion, not mine. Thanks. Inter&anthro (talk) 01:53, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recetly added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! After I left this message I realized that you were a regular editor so the message violates WP:DTTP... Also, I don't think you added the image, you just reviewed the page after it was created. That being said, good note for me to share with ya since you review newly created pages. :-) Keep up the great work!!! --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:35, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The page regarding the conflicts of Moldova

[edit]

Hello! I think perhaps the reasons why my page doesn't meet up to the guidelines are: there are some mistakes in the table and that the list is too short. If I would include the wars of the principality of Moldavia too, would it be allowed to remain here? It's similar to the "list of conflicts" pages of other countries.Talasgat (talk) 11:52, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016

[edit]

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

Thanks for contacting me!

[edit]

Hi Masum,

Thanks a lot for contacting me re my maiden edits. As I am fresh to contributing to Wiki (although I frequently use Wiki as a good source of information), there seems to be a steep learning curve required to make an article to a desirable level of quality. Hence the initial version of the article is very simple and I hope to be able to progressively enrich it over the time and also hope that other people will also contribute.

Regarding Mehedi Hasan

[edit]

Dear Masum Ibn Musa, Thanks for your contribution on Mehedi Hasan. I just don't get it why are you still insisting your edits overlooking the truth. There are major third party sources like BBC Bangla[1], The Daily Star[2], Dhaka Tribune, Prothom Alo [3] stated that he was born in Barisal and raised in Khulna. His both grandparents home are also in Barisal. In his own interview[4] by Channel 24, he confirmed it. Here is another report by 71 news. [5] ESPNcricinfo is more like a directory not an independent third party source. The information what is provided there is wrong. It's assumed that he was born in Khulna as he is a citizen of Khulna and grew up there since he was kid. But his birthplace was Barisal and lived there until 2001. He belongs to both Khulna and Barisal by birth and residence. Regards, Happiest persoN (talk) 11:26, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Miraz submitted his own document to BCB that his birthplace is Khulna. According to his information ESPNCricinfo and CricketArchive also crate his profile. So still his all of document Khulna based though some kind of media published his hometown was Barisal.  Masum Ibn Musa  Conversation 12:38, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User group: New Page Reviewr

[edit]

Hello Masum Ibn Musa.

Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.

New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

New Page Review - newsletter

[edit]
Hello Masum Ibn Musa,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 805 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Your contributed article, Gias Uddin Selim

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Gias Uddin Selim. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Giasuddin Selim. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Giasuddin Selim – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. CAPTAIN RAJU () 18:26, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
