Hello

Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello, Matthew AdamFrancis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. My name is Howicus, and I've been an editor here for some time. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

If you're working on creating a new article, this page has instructions on how to cite sources, complete with videos.

If all this Wikicode is a little overwhelming, WP:Cheatsheet may help untangle it.

And if you need more help, I'd recommend getting live help at the Wikipedia help chat channel (click "connect" to join): #wikipedia-en-help connect. Additionally, you could ask me on my talk page, try the Teahouse (a help page for new users) or click here to ask for help here on your talk page and a volunteer will visit you here shortly

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Again, welcome, and have fun editing! Howicus (Did I mess up?) 01:16, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Editor Retention of New editors...I have a question and a proposal.

[edit]

As a new editor that has expressed the difficulty of editing as a new editor, I would like to ask if you would be willing to participate in a discussion on your concerns and questions on how Wikipedia can improve things for editors such as yourself.

The discussion is at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention on the thread Could more information help to keep newbies?.

Please let us know of your opinion on whether more information would be helpful or how such information could be formatted to be presented to new editors that find Wikipedia to be confusing, in a way that would be helpful to users such as yourself! You need not participate, but involvement could help improve Wikipedia for new editors!

Thank you and happy editing.--Mark Miller (talk) 03:14, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Draft:Kilkenny Primary School, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.kilkennyc7.sa.edu.au/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Image tagging for File:Outstarsban.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Outstarsban.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Donner60. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Henley High School (Adelaide, South Australia)— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 03:27, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Enzo Ferrari

[edit]

Hi Matthew AdamFrancis. I have reverted your edits to Enzo Ferrari because the text appears to have been directly copied from this webpage. Directly copying large slabs of text from other websites is not permitted on Wikipedia - see WP:COPYVIO for further information. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 03:01, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We now have two copyright violations noted on this page; one of them added after you had been advised of Wikipedia's policy in this regard. I have looked over your past contributions and see problems there as well. I will address those as I have time; feel free to fix them yourself. I need to advise you that if you persist in ignoring the policy found at WP:COPYVIO, you risk your editing privilege. I am watchlisting this page so if you have questions or require clarification, please leave a message here. Tiderolls 12:55, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Subtle Touch Photography and Images, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Matthew AdamFrancis. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Subtle Touch Photography and Images".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Subtle Touch Photography and Images}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 18:20, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dewritech. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Snapchat because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Dewritech (talk) 18:01, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have previously warned you regarding violating Wikipedia's policy covering copyrights (see WP:COPYVIO). I have had to remove yet another violation of copyright that you have inserted. Please do not do this again. I do not want to block you because Wikipedia needs your help, however this cannot continue. Please stop. Tiderolls 15:43, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
