2015 Sydney Roosters season – Representatives Honours
I do acknowledge the 2015 Kiwis Tour as a major representative event but I have chosen not to include it in the Representatives Honours table for two reasons.
1. I have decided to only include the Four Nations and the World Cup as the post-season event.
2. Adding the Kiwis Tour to the table adds a second line to the table when you add a long name such as Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
I could combine the Melanesian Cup and the Polynesian Cup to make room for the Kiwis tour but I'm not sure if it makes sense.
KC Roosters — Talk 05:43, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- I think re-combining the Pacific Internationals into one line makes more sense than ignoring the Kiwis tour. If the Kangaroos were touring the UK I am sure you would think that would be worthy of inclusion. You could have the ANZAC test, city/country, and the pacific test all in one column as they are played during the NRL's representative weekend. Mattlore (talk) 05:49, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- I will combine the Melanesian Cup and the Polynesian Cup as one column if the Pacific Rugby League International page is guaranteed to include both games for 2015.

Here's a non notable league player who will be in Queensland Cup for at least a year so you can mark this one down for deletion nomination, I would but I don't know how to... Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 06:48, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, done. I use Twinkle which makes it super easy. Otherwise have a look at Wikipedia:Deletion process for instructions. Mattlore (talk) 07:27, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
2015 Auckland Nines Statistics
If you would like to update the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines page, specifically the game statistics the following website will help greatly.

Additionally, if you have the time you can also update the 2014 NRL Auckland Nines page with the same website.

I do not want to put you under any pressure or take time out of your life as this is just a friendly suggestion. I have also given CodyCruickshank the same suggestion.

Chris Grevsmuhl
Chris Grevsmuhl has been called into the Indigenous All Stars team, when he plays, does this make him a notable rugby league player without having played NRL or do we see the All Stars match as a glorified trial? Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 07:09, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- Good question. I suppose he doesn't quite trigger WP:RLN but you might find enough coverage to satisfy WP:GNG anyway. Mattlore (talk) 07:15, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Could Wilson Hall (New Zealand rugby league) actually be Wilson Hall (rugby league)
I'm wondering whether Wilson Hall (New Zealand rugby league) active circa 1922-27, could actually be Wilson Hall (rugby league) who played at Castleford 1929–35? Best Regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 12:45, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, I wondered the same. It's possible - but I don't have any source to confirm it at the moment. Was the Castleford player a half? Mattlore (talk) 19:44, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- I believe he was a whole… but seriously though, according to this he was a scrum-half. Best Regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 19:58, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- It seems that Wilson Hall is a double-barrelled surname. A Hornby player named A. Wilson Hall went to England at the end of 1926,[1] and following the lifting of the two years' residential ban by the English league received an offer in June 1927.[2] It seems he played for Swinton from 1927.[3] Does that help? Schwede66 20:11, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Brilliant Schwede! That helps a lot. "A. Wilson Hall" played for New Zealand four times from 1925-1927.[4] He represented Waikato and the North Island in 1925, but then Canterbury and the South Island in 1926. He toured England in 1926/27,[5] so it seems likely that he stayed there after that.[6] Dynamo, anything to link your Wilson Hall to Swinton? It could be that he never actually played with them, or Halifax, as Castleford got his signature first. Mattlore (talk) 21:07, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- So what happened? It appears that the NZ page has been deleted, but nothing at Wilson Hall (rugby league) says anything about the origins of that player. Schwede66 19:16, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Schwede, I've updated the page now. There never was one at (NZ RL), only this discussion, so its now a redirect. Mattlore (talk) 03:39, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Help needed
Given that I don't understand rugby (or football), could you help by adding relevant content from this source to this article, please? Schwede66 19:16, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll have a look at it. I suppose we don't know if the source is referring to soccer or rugby union or another form of "football". Mattlore (talk) 21:11, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- I was assuming that given you work in this space regularly, you'd be best placed to figure out what it is that they are talking about (for example, by throwing his name into PapersPast and then interpreting what it says there). Schwede66 21:37, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Pacific tests
Are players in the Samoa-Tonga and PNG-Fiji test matches this weekend still notable enough to be created? I'm asking because I'm not sure if the notability rules got changed or not. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 08:50, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- The guidelines did get changed, see WP:RLN. They may still meet WP:GNG if there are enough sources about them. Mattlore (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for that. Pretty much not notable then except for cases where a player gets a lot of coverage. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 10:37, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Years in rugby league
I have added navogation boxes to aid navigation by year from 2010 onwards for three categories, Category:2010 in rugby league by country, Category:2010 in rugby league by club, and Category:2010 NRL season.. FACEBOOK WIKI LEOPARDS
Hi There, Caroline here
the info on the wikifb on Otahuhu leopards is not information we would not like display. it has some wrong info.
ie.The Otahuhu Leopards are a rugby league club based in Otahuhu, New Zealand. The club competes in the Fox Memorial competition run by the Auckland Rugby League. They are coached by Rob Ahu. Between 2000 and 2003 they also competed in the Bartercard Cup. The club celebrated its centenary in 2011
The info is outdated. How can I edit - Ive been trying to correct. I am from otahuhu leopards senior committee. Talk soon. thanks :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csmatamua (talk • contribs) 23:03, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

OTAHUHU LEOPARDS
hi Mattlore - I have been asked by the OTAHUHU LEOPARDS COMMITTEE to ask you not change information we as the club and committee have put into the Wikipedia page. You have change the name to Otahuhu Leopards which is NOT our official and legal name. We corrected this and you edited it again. If such changes are continuous then we are going to make a formal request and complaint to Wikipedia and the admins to remove the page.
Thank you csmatamua csmatamua 04:44, 14 July 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csmatamua (talk • contribs)

Paul Gallen
Mattlore, Gallen's drug confession is well referenced and accurate, and is a key note in his career. There is nothing subjective or pejorative in referencing this and it should not be airbrushed from a high level summary of his career. Osito321 (talk) 06:54, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- It was definitely a POV statement. I'm unsure if a six month backdated suspension is even worthy of inclusion in the introduction, but I have reworded it to make it more neutral and left it there. Mattlore (talk) 08:17, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Cheat is as much POV as your inclusion of the white-washing 'inadvertent'. Osito321 (talk) 10:10, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Isn't that the facts of the case? That the Sharks doctor gave him and other players supplements that contained the drug. I'm not aware of any sources saying it was a deliberate act on behalf of the players? Mattlore (talk) 20:34, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Matt, Plead guilty to illegal use of drugs is the simplest and most accurate representation of the facts in evidence. There is no evidence that it was inadvertent, apart from the self serving claims of Gallen et al who were not prepared to test it under rules of evidence. The ASADA and WADA rules in effect make the athlete responsible for what goes into their body, and Danks is a self proclaimed sports scientist no "Doctor". Gallen himself stated he "can cope with being called a drug cheat" (http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/paul-gallen-i-can-cope-with-being-called-a-drug-cheat-20140822-10784b.html) so why are you consistently trying to whitewash a statement in Wiki that has stood since the time of the guilty plea? Osito321 (talk) 23:53, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Osito, please have a look at WP:3RR. You are continually reverting changes that include clear typos and style errors. Your edits don't seem neutral and, while it can be expanded in the body text, the introduction to the article doesn't need such POV statements. Also I'm not aware of any sources that say the drugs were illegal? I'm under the understanding that they were just banned in the sport but not actually illegal under the law? Mattlore (talk) 00:09, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Matt, Thanks for the link to 3RR - it is a good policy and I wondered how Wiki managed these - didn't imagine ours was the first such disagreement. Not sure what the clear typos are - happy to hear from you on these. Illegal is not limited to legal statute, this applies to rules of sports and games also, but have removed this to compromise. That he pleaded guilty to illegal use of performance enhancing drugs is not POV it is fact, unlike your previous insertion of "inadvertent" which was definitely POV and not backed by any evidence. Happy that the page now including intro reads as non-POV, evidence based, and an improvement on where it was last week - you also? Osito321 (talk) 01:07, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah mate, much happier with it now it reads "pleaded guilty to the use of performance enhancing drugs in 2014." As I said before, I don't recall any sources stating that the players knew what was happening at the time, which is why I used inadvertent, because it was the support staff, but I'm happy with the new statement. I'm going to remove the reference though, I don't think you need references in the intro as they are further down in the text. Cheers Mattlore (talk) 01:53, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

James Courtney
As Courtney will be out of the seat for an extended period, (he will miss Sandown and is not yet cleared for Bathurst) it is not an unreasonable edit. Additionally this template has always - going back seven+ years - reflected the drivers currently in the cars. --Falcadore (talk) 09:57, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem right that a driver who is currently 8th in the championship isn't in the template that is meant to include "Teams, drivers and events of the 2015 International V8 Supercars Championship". Either the title needs to be changed or there must be a way to include both the main driver and the latest driver of the car. Any ideas? Mattlore (talk) 05:12, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- At this time of year the template is re-written for the enduros anyway. --Falcadore (talk) 06:09, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- Ok. Which doesn't really address any of those points?
- Why should Courtney no longer be included in the template - as he is currently 8th in the championship and will have driven the majority of the races in the #22 car by season end. I don't understand your rationale and you haven't made any attempt to elaborate - apart from that it is the way it has always been done in the past. Mattlore (talk) 06:12, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- If I recall correctly, Jonny Reid was included in the template for all of last year? Mattlore (talk) 06:17, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- He's only eighth now. He'll be outside the top ten after Sandown. Bear in mind this is a navigational template. As far as I can recall Jonny Reid was edit warred into the template. --Falcadore (talk) 06:21, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- Courtney has already scored enough points to finish 21st in last years championship. The navigational template is meant to represent "Teams, drivers and events of the 2015 International V8 Supercars Championship" and so he should be included. Also, last year the one driver who was replaced mid-season was included in the template. It doesn't seem like we will be able to reach consensus so I will raise it on the template's talk page. Mattlore (talk) 07:10, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Talk:2015 Sydney Roosters season
Hi Mattlore. I just want to let you know that I re-added a comment you made to Talk:2015 Sydney Roosters season back in January which was removed by KC Roosters for some reason. No reason other than "update" was given for the removal, but your comment was a legitimate question about the article, so it should have not been removed without a strong policy-based reason for doing so. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:57, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Considering that V8 Super Tourers was liquidated back in March and no longer existed, can you name the two parties that were merged? --Falcadore (talk) 10:34, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
