If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zoe Littleton (voice and dialect coach) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. An article you recently created, Zoe Littleton (voice and dialect coach), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Meglittleton. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Zoe Littleton (voice and dialect coach), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 21:12, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve CARE International UK

[edit]

Hello, Meglittleton,

Thank you for creating CARE International UK.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for contributing. This article needs additional independent reliable sources (WP:RS). I also note that your user profile says you work for an international development charity. Please be aware of potential conflicts of interest (see WP:COI) if you are writing about your employer.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Paul W}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on CARE International UK, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

You still have not adequately responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying, you may be blocked from editing. PRAXIDICAE🌈 13:49, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I’m not sure what this is about? I’m not an undisclosed paid editor? Meglittleton (talk) 13:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
While we assume good faith, if you work for an organisation and edit a Wikipedia article about that organisation, its activities or people, then you have a conflict of interest (see WP:COI). You may not be being paid expressly to edit, but Wikipedia guidelines urge editors not to contribute to Wikipedia about their employers (as there is a financial relationship). Moreover, "Editors with a COI ... are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content." There is guidance on the COI page about how to disclose a COI by adding templates to Talk pages and your User page. I hope this helps explain the situation. Paul W (talk) 15:15, 9 August 2022 (UTC)<[reply]
Thanks, Praxidicae. Meglittleton, i came to this page expressedly to see whether I should block this account. I won't do so for now, but you must read the following

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at Jimfbleak. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Meglittleton|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Your text was a largely unsourced promotional text dump for an organisation that appears to have no employees, income or expenditure, just aims and messages.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:36, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, I do understand that I work in the third sector but there are a lot of organisations in the third sector, cannot I not write about any of them? I’d rather not risk being blocked so I’ll delete it but I just haven’t put the actual organisation I work for down for privacy reasons Meglittleton (talk) 19:21, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's only by chance that I came back to this page, If you want to reply, you can do so on my talk page. You can alternatively leave a message on this page, and I will know you have done so if you start it with my user name, User:Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ when you post it. That will send me an alert. You can write about any organisation, and you are not required to "out" yourself, except that if you have a financial connection with an organisation, such as working for it, or on its behalf, you must declare as a paid editor as described above. If you have a significant non-financial connection, you should still declare a COI. You should be aware that writing about an organisation is not easy. What we often get is aims and mission statements, ie "this is what we do", plus a bit of history. To show notability, we need real facts sourced to independent third=party sources. For obvious reasons, any articles about companies or products are going to be carefully scrutinised Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:59, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
