There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 15:30, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I created this account for Memory Lane (a music publishing company) not to promote the business, but to create an informational page about "The Eagles' Victory Song". We'd like to make sure Wikipedia has accurate information on the history of this song. We are in no way trying to promote business or sell anything. The reason I created the account using the name MemoryLaneMusicGroup is because there will be 3 people accessing it. Furthermore, we originally created the account to create a factual page for "The Eagles' Victory Song" in order to contest another page "Fly, Eagles Fly" that has inaccurate information on it. If we need to change the name of our account, then that's fine, but I'd like to make clear that we are in no way trying to promote our business or advertise anything whatsoever.

Decline reason:

There is a bigger issue here than the name change, namely the fact that you will have multiple people using this account. We have a policy explicitly written that does not allow the sharing of an account. If you are going to have multiple people working on the site, they will need to create their own accounts, however please bare in mind if these accounts will be used to promote or edit articles solely on your company, these accounts would fall afoul of our rules for conflicts of interest and may also end up blocked. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:35, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

unblock-spamun | MichaelEMemoryLane|3=Since I am the only person of the 3 who has some grasp on the intricacies of Wikipedia editing, can I change the name of the account and be the only user? I'm going to be the only person editing. I am not trying to promote our company. I just want to create factual articles on the histories of songs.

Please can you give some indication of the articles that you intend to edit and what changes you would like to make if you are unblocked? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:31, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

REASON BELOW THIS UNBLOCK REQUEST, I HAD TROUBLE PASTING THE FULL EXPLANATION

Accept reason:

I have unblocked based on your assurnaces that only one person will have access to this account. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:35, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

REASON: I would like to edit the Fly, Eagles Fly article as it has inaccurate information. The original title is "The Eagles' Victory Song" - | History of The Eagles' Victory Song lyrics - and the article name should be changed to "The Eagles' Victory Song", mentioning "Fly, Eagles Fly" as an AKA or derivative title. Further to updating the historical facts of the song, I'd like to add notable pop culture references and links of the song including its use in Invincible (2006 film) and its inclusion (the official Pep Band Version) on the official Eagles website - | Modern Eagles Fight Song and Music Video. I would also like to add the official Pep Bands' original version of the song - | acoustic Banjo version. Further to the Eagles song, I would like to create an article for the song Penetration by The Pyramids (band). "Penetration" was a popular surf rock song in the 1960s, peaking at #18 in 1964 on the Billboard charts - | "Penetration" Billboard History; | Notable history on the Pyramids and "Penetration" performed on American Bandstand. These are just two songs that I'd like to post about initially.
