License tagging for Image:Arriva London South Oyster Card Bus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arriva London South Oyster Card Bus.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:05, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Arriva_London_South50.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MECUtalk 18:18, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for joining, but there are a few things you need to know.

Pictures you upload

[edit]

For your pictures you can put {{buses-by-adam}} in the summary box. It will look like this:

Copyright
This image comes from www.londonbusesbyadam.fotopic.net. Adam Murray, the webmaster, allows it to be used for any purpose, as long as this template is on the image's page and in whatever article it is used in. This also applies to all other images from this website.

Templates

[edit]

For your pictures, you can use the same template. That being said, Template:Adam Murray, Template:London Bus Routes Fotopic and Template:This image is copyrighted to Adam Murray will be deleted.

Naming you pictures

[edit]

Although not neccessary, I advise that you use the bus route number and the buses ID number to create the file name. For example: instead of doing Image:East Thames Buses.jpg, you could do image:001 VWL13.jpg. It's not required, but will help you when uploading more, as you can't rename pictures once on Wikipedia.

If you need any more help, click here or e-mail me. Thanks for joining us.--sonicKAI 12:30, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template (reminder)

[edit]

Instead of copying and pasting, you can just put {{buses-by-adam}}. — Preceding unsigned comment added by web_kai2000 (talkcontribs)

The article you wrote, London Buses route 118, is uncategorized. Please help improve it by adding it to one or more categories, so it may be associated with related articles. A stub marker or other template doesn't count - please put in an actual category in the article.Eli Falk 10:53, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I added the first day of operation to the 118.

I hope you don't mind me mentioning this and I mean it constructively. I think you'll have to come up with another way of logging the vehicle allocations. Most "lay people" won't understand AL's, AK's, TB's, J's, GM's etc., etc., If you don't, I think you'll end up with an AFD landed on your hard work.. I'm quite willing to help out.. so let me know. I'm still trying to get the 130 finished, but it doesn't "inspire me" --IsarSteve 20:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The template I created for you is currently nominated for deletion, so I'm going to ask that you not upload any more pictures from your site at the moment. --sonicKAI 01:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a general link to specific article is a violation of external link guidelines WP:EL. Potentially, the link might be interesting in a general article about London buses, but inserting it into every single bus route article is inappropriate. Please reconsider your actions. Nposs 18:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you have a direct relationship to the site, adding links to it is considered a "conflict of interest." Please read WP:COI. You may propose COI links on the talk pages for other editors to consider. Nposs 18:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Tramlink do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Your website is nice but adding it to every single page dealing with buses is really, really frowned upon. I added it to Transport in London and removed from most of the other pages. -- lucasbfr talk 08:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
