Welcome![edit]

Hi there! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like it here and stick around. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

A few tips before you start doing a lot of editing:

  • When you post something on a talk/discussion page, you can sign your name by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.
  • If you ever find yourself with nothing to do on Wikipedia, have a look at the Community Portal, you'll find that there's always something happening.

If you ever have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, don't hesitate to write to me on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Happy editing and have a great day! :-) Akamad 09:46, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please use the sandbox...[edit]

... when testing edits, like this one. If you have any questions about wiki markup don't hesitate to ask in my talk page. Happy editing! -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 01:00, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re this edit again. Why do you keep adding links to images that don't exist? Are you planning to upload them soon? Also please double check your image syntax, preferably through the "Show preview" button to make sure your changes show up the way you intend. I'm not going to revert this edit now, but if you don't get it fixed in a reasonable time I will. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 12:18, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits at Canada[edit]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Jkelly 20:39, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CIA vs Stats Can[edit]

Please don't change the population estimate. The statistics Canada estimate is updated more regularly, and has more information regarding the Canadian population. -- Jeff3000 01:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple editors have now reverted your switch to the CIA facts. Please do not change it once again. -- Jeff3000 19:48, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.
Please do not remove messages from your talk page. Talk pages exist as a record of communication, and in any case, comments are available through the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted comments. Thanks.
If there is a reason why you want the estimates switch, bring it up on the Canada talk page.

You have once again changed the population figure from the StatsCan estimate to the one provided by the CIA factbook. You have been asked several times to stop, so I guess this is a "last warning" of sorts - continuing in this manner may be seen as vandalism. The consensus from other editors has been to use the StatsCan reference. If you have issue with this, the best thing to do would be to convince others that the CIA reference is in fact preferable, by posting your thoughts on the article's associated talk page. Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 06:45, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
Please do not remove warnings from your talk page or replace them with offensive content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. If you continue to remove or vandalize warnings from your talk page, you will lose your privilege of editing your talk page. Thanks. -- Jeff3000 13:06, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As per all the above. Please do not remove the warnings and messages from your talk page. You can, however archive them. If you feel that the Canada page should use the CIA stats then please discuss it on Talk:Canada first. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:07, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked you for continuing to edit without discussion, dispute repeated requests and warnings to do so. This will expire in 24 hours time. When you return please make use of talk pages to communicate reasons for your edits with other editors. Petros471 15:20, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop. If you continue to remove warning messages from your talk page, you may be blocked from editing your talk page. -- Jeff3000 17:31, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Three things[edit]

  1. As has already been pointed out, you are not permitted to blank warning messages from your talk page. This page has now been protected so that you cannot edit it.
  2. The Canada article uses a documented population figure taken from estimates by Statistics Canada, which is the official Canadian census data collection agency. If you have a good reason why we should use an undocumented figure from the CIA Factbook instead, discuss it at Talk:Canada.
  3. If you touch the Canada article again without discussing the rationale for your change at Talk:Canada first, you will be editblocked for 48 hours. Didn't know we use progressive discipline around these parts, didja? Bearcat 07:10, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:800px-Terraced View.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The file File:Terraced View.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned image, never actually used in an article because the uploader was new to images and never figured out capitalization. Uploaded the same image in a different format a couple of days later (File:TeracedView.png) which is still in use and is hosted at Commons. This image, while not technically a duplicate, is likely never to be used because of the other version of the image.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  ★  Bigr Tex 21:56, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
