Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Otto van Veen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Seneca. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:51, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Odecalchi. I noticed that your recent edit to List of paintings by Anthony van Dyck added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 23:51, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from de.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 11:52, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  UtherSRG (talk) 14:05, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

not aware of making any "disruptive edits". Seems user UtherSG has a bad temper but no capacity to provide grounds for his decision to block Odecalchi (talk) 14:14, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Moot. Block has now expired. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 20:07, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

So, it's pretty evident that this was precipitated by edit warring at Cynocephalus. To be honest, at first glance this looks like an WP:INVOLVED overreach by UtherSG, although it's possible that there's a prior consensus or something else that makes this an "obvious" action which would be exempted per the policy. Given the circumstances, I'd be willing to unblock before the expiration date if I see an acknowledgment of edit warring, a commitment to resolve dispute through discussion at Cynocephalus and elsewhere, and a retraction of the unnecessary personal attack directed at UtherSG in your unblock request. If you'd refrained from making that personal attack (or acknowledged that you were edit warring) in the first place, I would likely have already unblocked you at this time. signed, Rosguill talk 18:53, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

removed hatnote

[edit]

Hi there. I happened to notice that an edit of yours from late last year removed the other uses hatnote from an article. Please see WP:Hatnote for more information about what these things are, and make sure not to remove them, esp. without explanation (see also Help:Edit summary). --Joy (talk) 16:05, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
