Glad you're back!

The Squamish articles definitely need your attention.--Curtis Clark (talk) 16:34, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

It feels good to be back! I am thinking I will systematically go through each section and rewrite or fix. Copywritters always needed to check for spelling/errors/grammar. I tend to like it when people chop up my words and make them into something good. I’m like a cook: I don’t like my own food! OldManRivers (talk) 20:00, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Church documents written in Skwxwu7mesh Snichim

Hi oldmanrivers,

I'm a history grad student at SFU, studying the church at Eslha7an. During my research, I found a bunch of documents that the Oblate priests had written in Skwxwu7mesh snichim. They are mainly prayers and sections of the Bible. I thought they might be useful to your for your language revitalization efforts.

Buddy Joseph has a copy of the photos I took of the documents, or, if you prefer, I can send you your own copy.

Sean Wilkinson s.t.w.wilkinson@gmail.com

p.s. I mention you a couple of times in my thesis. Would you like to see it? (when it's done). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stw1sfu (talkcontribs) 19:00, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

"Keh Kait" - interesting

re this and noting the "keh kait" bit.....does that have the same meaning/roots as the name Qiqayt, which is also in BCGNIS as Kekait I think, for Brownsville (the Surrey side of the river at New West, or rather Brownsville was the white town on the site of what had been the Kwantlen village of Kekait? see BC names entry "Brownsville". Skookum1 (talk) 02:12, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

I left that reference because I didn’t have a proper one to replace it with. That is not the correct name for where the present-day town is. I’m searching for the actual name in one of my books so I can site. OldManRivers (talk) 04:30, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Wondering, again, if it's the same meaning, i.e. if there's a linguistic connection. I may get around to starting Brownsville, not sure though it's at the same location that the Kwantlen village should be the same article....this is where Whattlekainum lived, I think....Skookum1 (talk) 05:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Keeshan/Kiix?in IPA needed

please see User_talk:Kwamikagami#Kiix.3Fin_.28Keeshan.29_needs_IPA. I know you probably don't know any Nuu-chah-nulth orthography, maybe you know someone in one of their language programs/depts though?Skookum1 (talk) 08:54, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Artlish River; "Ah:tliish" needs citation better than BCGNIS

Coast Salish artists

Hi.

You don't appear to be too active on Wikipedia in recent times, but in case you do return, I though I'd leave this note. I came across an old draft in your user subpages of the Coast Salish art article when I was wikilinking Susan Point. That led me to create articles on Aaron Nelson-Moody, and Jody Broomfield. All three of these artist articles are very stubby. You seem to be knowledgeable and have access to reference material that may help expand the articles. If you have the time and inclination to improve and expand these articles, it sure would be appreciated. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 20:31, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
