Help me![edit]

I submit a link but Wikipedia removes the link for some policy violence because you find it for advertising or promotional purposes.

But I find some links that is same as of mine. Like on a page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_mango_chutney there is an external link with text "Mango-Tamarind Chutney" with the link "http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/12603-mango-tamarind-chutney"

Could you explain the same.

Please help me with...

If the link is from a website that you work for, it is a conflict of interest and you should not add it without discussion on the article talk page. Please read policy about external links for more information. If there are other links that violate policy, please point them out so they can be addressed. This is a volunteer project where anyone can add anything, and people do what they can when they can, so it is possible for inappropriate content to get through, even for years. 331dot (talk) 09:53, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Puri (food). Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 13:50, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Paratha. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
