Ways to improve Brandon Estrada

[edit]

Hi, I'm Mayast. Wings444, thanks for creating Brandon Estrada!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Would be better if "work" and "publisher" parameters in citations didn't contain html, but plain names of companies/magazines. Or, if that's not posible, shortened adresses - eg. "mayaguez2010.com" instead of "http://www.mayaguez2010.com".

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Mayast (talk) 20:31, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mirrors

[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Brandon Estrada ‎. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Information icon Hello, Wings444. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Kuru (talk) 11:33, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I received a PM from a source to remove "soulful renderings," presuming that's what you are now fixating upon. Nothing else applies.
I have already provided cite with exact quote, for "The USC and UCLA competition is the most prestigious and storied Dual Meet in the country." as well as "and inspiration" It's confirmed and verified as presented.
Please don't call it "crap." It is cited facts. Wings (talk) 12:13, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Promotional hype is not factual information. The article has become more and more promotional since June 2022, and it needs to be thoroughly revised and cleaned up to get rid of advertising and trivial details. It was absolutely not appropriate for you to remove the maintenane templates flagging the adverting and conflict of interest issues – please do not do that again, and do not edit the article directly. You can post edit requests to the article talk page, as explained above. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 20:46, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added ONE paragraph at the end, which was FACTUAL and in honor of Fraley (deceased) who had a special admiration & interest in Brandon Estrada. How disrespectful.
Nothing else was added nor removed.
Put everything else back as it was 3/14/2023 because you've now ruined the page. as there were no other issues.... except your obsessions. Wings (talk) 14:13, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Stop bullying! Wings (talk) 15:04, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS: THE NEW LAST PARAGRAPH ADDED WAS BECAUSE BRANDON ESTRADA HAS BEEN NOMINATED TO THE USA TRACK & FIELD, so his personal contribution to the popularity of the sport matters and is not 'frivolous. Wings (talk) 15:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2023

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Brandon Estrada, you may be blocked from editing.

Please place any edit requests on the article talk page. Don't restore the promotional text, which was also repetitive and confusingly structured; don't restore inappropriate sources such as alchetron (you were asked to avoid mirror sites many months ago); don't remove maintenance templates. bonadea contributions talk 15:22, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also be careful not to attack your fellow editors. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 15:33, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
