Early Tupolevs[edit]

Hi there - thanks for the work you're doing to fill in some important gaps here! It's been a while since I've read Duffy's book, but I'm a little worried about the style of your contributions. Could you please put my mind at ease by letting me know that these articles are entirely your own words and that you haven't used even a sentence here-or-there from Duffy? I don't mean to accuse you, but the style just seems very familiar! Anyway, like I said, good work on these birds! Cheers --Rlandmann 21:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Entering templates[edit]

I've reverted your edit in Tupolev ANT-1 and replaced it with template. Please don't copy content of template into article, use {{Tupolev aircraft}} code instead. Hardcoded data can be changed only in article and for this particular article. Editing of template changes data in every article where this template was inserted. When you enter template properly, you'll see sth like this:

Pictures and edit counter[edit]

Hi again Plane nerd! Yes, it's perfectly fine to use any picture already on English Wikipedia on any other article in English Wikipedia. Pictures used on other language Wikipedia (which you might have found through Google, for example, or by following one of the "other language" links) might or might not be usable - sometimes they are subject to different copyright laws.

To count your edits, click here.

Hope this helps! PS: there's a few Tupolevs urgently needing write-ups on this list in case you want to help out! --Rlandmann (talk) 20:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ted destinations[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ted destinations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Ted destinations. Song Destinations[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Song Destinations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Former Song Destinations[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Former Song Destinations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. It's no problem. I think I've actually changed my mind on this prod, as there seems to be precedent for keeping articles like this (see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/American_Airlines_destinations). I will delete my prod momentarily. If you disagree with someone who adds a prod to a page you create, you do have the right to contest them on the article's talk page or tell them to bring it to Articles for Deletion to get a consensus on the subject. Cheers! Redfarmer (talk) 00:20, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Song destinations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Song destinations[edit]

I have nominated Song destinations, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Song destinations. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Redfarmer (talk) 00:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note that I'm nominating this one procedurally to get a consensus on whether precedent extends to now defunct airlines. Redfarmer (talk) 00:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit contrary to consensus at Song destinations[edit]

If you disagree with the closure of an AfD, you should not just unilaterally revert the closing admin's actions, but rather should follow the procedure listed at Wikipedia:Deletion review. I have reverted your recreation of the article content, please do not recreate it again. Thanks, JERRY talk contribs 05:48, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Date formats[edit]

Hi. I undid a couple of the changes you made at British Airways destinations. Per WP:MOSDATE we don't change from one form of date to another unless it is for consistency. This article very properly uses the European convention (1 January) and not the American one (January 1). Best wishes, --John (talk) 22:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Airport article styles[edit]

I reverted the Baltimore/Washington to Baltimore-Washington changes you made. Our style is to use hyphens to designate airports in cities with more than one airport (New York-JFK, London-Gatwick) and slashes in airports which serve more than one location (Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Raleigh/Durham, etc.) Thanks. FCYTravis (talk) 17:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I understand that. But we aren't required (and don't) use the exact name of airports in destination lists. We use what's commonly used by the airlines for departure/arrival information. For example, there may be an airport called Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, but in destination lists we designate it as "Fayetteville (AR)." FCYTravis (talk) 17:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CO Warsaw Service[edit]

Well I didn't remove it from Delta's page because I didn't know you added it to both articles, but I'll be more than happy to remove it from there also. My reasoning for removing the content you added was because I didn't see what value it added. Airlines are constantly thinking and rethinking destinations to add and remove from service, and upon checking the source you included with the content I saw nothing to indicate that Continental had formally applied to begin service to Warsaw. From the article: "Both airlines have already talked to Warsaw about direct connections between USA and Poland". I think there's a big difference between 'talking' to an airport and applying to fly there. I don't see why we should need to include informal talks when they don't necessarily mean anything concrete. NcSchu(Talk) 23:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's still 100% speculative. Speculative information shouldn't be included on an encyclopedia. The fact that you've seen such information elsewhere only means that that information should not be there either. There's 100% uncertainty as to whether Continental will ever begin the service so there's no reason to add it until Continental announces it has applied for the destination. An exciting opportunity to get involved![edit]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 03:49, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Ted Destinations has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced since 2008, likely original research.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
