Welcome![edit]

Hello, ProdByCzechmark, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Tara Savelo, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hey dude, I just got asked to help out and I put the info I’m told to. The info is handed to me by someone else, sorry if this caused any troubles! I’m not getting paid, I just offer to help on the page. Hope this can maybe clear some things up ProdByCzechmark (talk) 05:10, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Worgage per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Worgage. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- RoySmith (talk) 11:56, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I do have a brief explanation and hope it will suffice. I don't know any other of the screen names mention neither have I ever seen them before Wikipedia editing. I simply, wanted to be a help and help edit and expand the page I was working on. As for the information on the subject, I got it from articles such as 'lamaisongaga' and 'ladygaganow' - With this, naturally, some information may have over lapped. I did get a notice and it mentioned my username, it's simply my twitter handle and I never knew on wikipedia there was a term such as "prodding." Again, my mistake for that. I hope this will clear the air and if anymore info is needed, be sure to drop me a message and I'll respond as soon as I see it. Zatím ahoj! ProdByCzechmark (talk) 16:54, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

"I don't know any other of the screen names mention neither have I ever seen them before Wikipedia editing." And yet all of you focus on the same draftspace article? And how exactly does prodding come into this? I haven't seen it mentioned here on this page.

If what you say is true, you're going to have to offer an explanation as to why we would be mistaken to conclude that all of you are the same person. Simply saying you're not ... well, from our perspective you could see why that wouldn't work. — Daniel Case (talk) 04:49, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have explanations for everything listed above, I’m just a big fan of Tara and I wanted to do something to help out. (As well as pass the time) I’m a school student and naturally I want to better improve my skills, I’m taking computing science classes and after summer part of the curriculum is Wikipedia coding/editing. I simply just wanted to get a head start and expand my coding horizons. I never had any intentions of coming off in a bad way nor did I think I would be accused of being a sock puppet. For this, I apologise. As for the other people, I simply just don’t know them, that’s all I can say! I kept myself to myself and truthfully, that’s all I know. I apologise again. Thanks for your time - Finn (They/Them) ProdByCzechmark (talk) 18:43, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day to whoever’s reading. I previously tried to get unbanned to no avail due to something I said. I’m just a big fan of Tara, always have been and always will be. That’s why I focused on that page. The account was made for purposes of browsing and ultimately helping out with different Wikipedia pages. It just happened that since the page was so new, I obviously decided to focus on it more. When I was discovering new information I tended to add it or added onto what people were saying. I’m just a student from the U.K., when I tell you I have no bloody clue who the others are, I really don’t! I can’t really say that in any other way apart from I have no clue who they are. I hope this is enough because, I really do want to get back into wiki editing before summer term, something to pass the time. Thanks again ProdByCzechmark (talk) 09:44, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve been banned off Wikipedia for many months now and I figured it might be an idea to give getting unbanned another shot. Third times a charm, right? I was a new Wikipedia user when I was editing and I never realised that I was doing was considered as ‘wrong.’ Yes, I do know the subject of the article I was working on but, I never asked her what to write. I was just given material to reference from and asked her to clear one fact that was previously on the page. As for the person that created the page (Worgage) He is the owner of a popular Lady Gaga fan site. I was in contact with him and we have briefly discussed the page and shared material to put on it. We just wanted to help out and give Tara the chance to have a Wikipedia page. Naturally, since I was so new, again, I did not know what I was doing was wrong. I have since looked over the Wikipedia rules and fully understand what I did was utterly insane. I’m willing to reason and make sure I don’t do wrong again. If there’s any chance of me getting unbanned in the near future, please do let me know. Thank you very much. - Blaire. ProdByCzechmark (talk) 19:21, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For sockpuppetry cases, we ask the editor to request an unblock with their original account. This request has been open for a surprisingly long time, so I hate to make you jump thru hoops, but I still think that's a good process. If you are still interested in an unblock, please do that. Ping me when you do, and I'll make sure it doesn't get lost again. Your unblock request should not only discuss your COI editing, but your sockpuppetry (which is harder to believe was just an innocent "I didn't know it was wrong". Hi there! I am still interested in an unblock. I’ve been waiting months to no avail. Thank you for the response none the less. I’m not quite sure what else to say but I genuinely have no clue who the other accounts are. I know people were in fact asked to help on the page and get it set up so Tara could have a page. In my many months of being blocked from the site I have gone over the rules time and time again and I have looked over the rules and I do know it was wrong. I’m just a school student I didn’t know right from wrong, I was just doing a task I was asked to do. Again, thank you very much. @Floquenbeam ProdByCzechmark (talk) 20:53, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unban request #4[edit]

@Floquenbeam: Hi, my mistake, forgot you can’t use the @ symbol to ping people. As said before, I was just asked to do a job and help out, I have a sheet of links I was going to update the page with. As for sock puppetry, I genuinely have no clue who the others are. I just know they were asked to help out as well. I was just acting as somebody to help code the page then leave it alone. I’m just a kid, I’m still in school, I didn’t know right from wrong. Since the last unban request a few months ago, I have looked over the rules numerous times and do see what I did was wrong, even if the other accounts are not mine nor do I know the people behind them. I don’t know what else to say about that. And as far as I’m aware, Wikipedia does let some admins check IP’s. By doing that, you may find out we are not the same. I really don’t know what else to say. Thank you very much. - Blaire. ProdByCzechmark (talk) 21:00, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ProdByCzechmark, would you be willing to agree with a topic ban from makeup artistry and Lady Gaga, broadly construed, to address the concerns people have expressed above? @RoySmith: @Daniel Case: @Onel5969: I've reviewed the SPI report linked above. Roy, the user continues to say this wasn't sockpuppetry, but meatpuppetry, and at the SPI you said you thought that was a decent possibility. As far as i can tell, no CU linked the accounts to one person. How would you all feel about unblocking this account, with topic bans from, say, makeup artistry and Lady Gaga, to prevent similar problems? If not, I'm unsure what this editor could possibly say to get unblocked. If this was overzealous fandom, we should probably give them a path back. If it was undisclosed paid editing, we should make it clear that unblocking is never going to happen. This unblock request should be resolved one way or the other. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:10, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Floquenbeam: Hi again, thanks for the fast response! I was no paid in any way shape or form, I volunteered to help around the summer months of this year. I would be willing to comprise or at least have a partial unblock. I just honestly want to get my account back to make it easier for school purposes. If there’s anything else you need please do let me know. Thanks again! ProdByCzechmark (talk) 21:15, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've got my eye on this page; I'd like to give the 3 editors above a chance to comment before proceeding. This will not be another 2 month wait, but please hang on a couple of days. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:46, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Floquenbeam thanks for the ping. I only vaguely remember this case, but I just read the SPI over to refresh my memory. An unblock with a topic ban sounds like a good idea to me; I have no objection to you unblocking, and I'll leave it in your hands to sort out the details. -- RoySmith (talk) 22:03, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Floquenbeam - Like RoySmith, I have no issue with unblocking with a topic ban. Both your and RoySmith's judgement is more than good enough for me. If further behavior indicates a return to potential UPE/sockpuppetry issues, then it can always be re-implemented. Onel5969 TT me 00:25, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Floquenbeam: Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate this! ProdByCzechmark (talk) 21:48, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking[edit]

OK, thanks for replying Roy and Onel. ProdByCzechmark, I'm willing to unblock you with a Topic ban from both the topics of makeup artistry, and the topic of Lady Gaga, both broadly construed. Do you agree? Obviously that would forbid edits to Draft:Tara Savelo, but it would cover a lot more; nothing related to makeup artistry, and nothing related to Lady Gaga. This would enable you to edit 99.99999% of the encyclopedia, while addressing other editors' concerns. Please read the linked page Topic ban; it explains what this entails. I want to be sure you understand what you're agreeing to. The smartest rule of thumb is, if you think you're even close to the topic, on any talk or article page, err on the side of caution. A topic ban is not like a block; it isn't something prevented by the software. It's something you agree to follow yourself. If you break the agreement, the block could be reimposed. Let me know if this is OK with you, and I'll unblock. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:56, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Floquenbeam: Hi there, yes that’s totally fine! One question I do have is is their any chance of those topic bans being lifted in the future or is it a permanent, definite thing? Thank you so much! ProdByCzechmark (talk) 22:02, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It would be an "indefinite" thing, which means it's in effect until it is lifted by an admin. This is not a highly regimented area, so these things vary, but they are seldom lifted before 6 months of trouble-free editing in other subjects. I would certainly want to see that myself before considering lifting it. Another benefit to keeping the topic ban intact is that it would reduce other people's concerns about undisclosed paid editing. Which I understand you're denying, but which is still an undercurrent to this conversation.
Give me a couple of minutes and I'll unblock the account. --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:08, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Floquenbeam: Ah, gotcha. Legally, I could not and have not been paid for anything I have done, thank you again! I’ll take your words to heart ProdByCzechmark (talk) 22:10, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. Good luck.
