They're nothing more than promotional resume's for not-very-successful aspiring actors - that's what IMDB is for. How is posting a CV on wikipedia not promotional?

actually I'd started with that drama school, and was going to go through them all - Why is wikipedia so filled with non-notable actors trying to promote themselves by exaggerating their status and accomplishments? Go through the ones who have posted biographies of themselves in all of their drama schools pages - 80 percent are non-notable, non-encyclopaedic, and exist only for the promotion of that individual's career/ego. How is this permissible on wikipedia? If it is not, please educate me as to how I might wage war on it in an appropriate manner.

take Ian Champion for example, one of the ones I flagged up - he has NO citations, sources or references; the entire thing is written like a promotional advert biography, totally non-encyclopaedic, and nothing in the huge article indicates any actual notability. How is that not promotional??? How is that permissible on wikipedia? How do I properly broach it?

While I agree that some articles on Wikipedia may or may not meet the notability guideline for actors, you bulk tagging articles without looking at the article history or the notability is not the correct thing to do. Being an alumni of a school does not automatically mean that you are not notable or that the article has been written by the actor themselves. The articles that you tagged were clearly not written in a promotional manner either. Listing an actor's filmography does not automatically mean that the biography is promotional. The lack of citations does not automatically mean that article is written in a promotional manner. There is nothing for you to "wage war" over, but if you feel that an actor or actress does not meet the notability guideline, then I recommend that you nominate the article for deletion through the articles for deletion process. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:41, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia is trying to be more egalitarian, more interesting, incorporating diverse worlds, therefore you are in a position to argue but not disrupt.

Actors may be doing many other things and have different careers, they just may have received their education at a drama school.
